Still small pears on the tree.  I think he is trying to reach them.  That little yellow fruit.

Well, my mistake. I have seen lots of bucks do this at a scrape...stand on their backlegs and work the overhanging branch. Pears...don't have that fruit in my neck of the woods, that I know of. Little crab apples,... but pears?

Taste like little pears.  Green and small and hang there all season until they turn yellow late season.  No idea exactly what type but they are wild.

Sounds like they are crab apples. I have a two yellow ones I know of on two different properties I hunt. Sounds like a good spot to set a cam this late in the season!

That's cool to see a deer do that, wish we could see his face. Lol. 

There is an old farm up the road that has wild pears, they are ok but have tough thick skin but are round and green. Deer love them

Awesome pics, I would have sworn licking branch also!  Looked like a scrape under it in the first pic.
