Anyone have that one stand that they hung but never seem to sit in? You know there is deer there and keep a camera nearby but never sit there? I have this one stand I hung a few years ago that I haven't sat in, my main reason is that I always seem to spook deer when going into it then never see any after. It isn't far from a house about 100 yards so it is a no gun stand but usually there are deer everywhere around it. I have stands on he perimeter of the area and see deer but that stand is just tough to get to without spooking deer. Come to think of it I have 2 stands like that one I have shot 2 wall hangers out of and is a swampy area on the property. I have another ladder stand not far that I saw some of the best rutting action in 4 or 5 years.

Ya , a ladder stand on the very top of the hill ,it's a great morning stand but the trail to get there runs through the middle of their travel direction and by the time I get to the stand I've soiled the woods with sweat and deep breaths . I keep meaning to have my buddy drive me up there some morning . The neighbor clear cut his property up there and they don't come from the same direction anymore which is why I kind of wrote it off.

I have several that are hung every.year and no one sits in..too many choices I guess.. Did have a friend try a ladder that's been up for 3 years no one ever sat in it .. He saw the biggest buck he's ever seen and several bucks every time he sat in it..now everyone wants to sit there...lol

I feel your pain, i have several that do not get set in for consecutive years. Straps get checked and such each year but never get set in during season. Mainly for the reason there are better stands around, and the same fact that i bump deer either leaving or going in to sit it. Without access through neighboring woods it makes these sets hard to sit successfully.

I have way too many stands and less time to sit them each year it seems.
