Geno C
i startyed watching it like 8 months ago, i like it... i was thinking of training MMA for fun. A buddy of mine did it and loved it. i usually have EFC fights at my house on the flat screen with the surround sound up for the boys lol
ELMER J. FUDD
Pat, I don't do the fighting in the octagon (cage). That's MMA. I do just the grappling as a hobby and for exercise. Gi and No gi. My 6 yr old does it too. Good workout. Those aren't my videos either, I just like them. Geno, you owe it to yourself to try it. Give it a few classes and really see. Don't get discouraged in the beginning either. I often feel like i went to the gym and then played tackle footbal with no pads. There's alot of good schools on the island. Geno C
yeah i had one near the house. not sure if it is still there.... i want to box actually and learn grappling. But sparing can often lead to some hidden anger issues surfacing lol.
NYBowhunter
I studied Shotokan for a few years and won nationals first year out in my division, that was about 15 or more years ago. After all those years, it comes in handy sometimes when your confronted with morons around NYC. Way to many characters to deal with when you work in the city. nyantler
Both of my two boys got their blackbelts in Taekwondo at the age of 9... martial arts helped them become respectful gentlemen... I am sure that it played a part in giving my youngest boy the strength and will to survive leukemia at the age of 14 when he was at his sickest. cwhite
I've been all over NYS wrestling but retired several years ago. Actually the thought of a match lasting longer than 30 seconds scares the hell out of me. Now I coach. Running paractices at the peewee club up here 2 days a week then for the past couple weeks I have been going to tournaments on Saturdays and Sundays throughout NYS. I thought of training again but with work, kids, hunting, training my dog, and coaching I have about 5 minutes of free time a week.

I agree Joe the arts do instill people to become respectful and disciplined. Sorry to hear about your boy, sounds like one tuff kid to come out on top with leukemia. I'm sure those were some very trying times. Hope all is well.

Dave
Thought this was a hunting site!!! Lets stick to what this site was developed for. What does martial arts have to do with hunting? Dave
WNYBuckHunter
This is the General chit chat section. We dont have to keep it strictly hunting in this forum.
