This just hit me being on crutches and non weight bearing and in a cast. How in the Heck am I going to drag out my Deer should I shoot one?I hunt alone on state land/public with no use of motorized equipt.The only thing I can think of is quartering and putting in my backpack

I believe you hunt near me in the Dover/Millbrook area. I live around so I'd lend a hand if needed.

Phone a friend   You aren’t going to fit a deer quartered in a back pack very easily. How hungry are you ? Knife , fork , build a fire and cook. Dom versus food ! In all seriousness, try and make a few calls tonight and line up somebody so you’re not in a pickle “ hopefully “ tomorrow.

My dilemma would be field dressing a deer in a downpour . Then again , if I got one , I think the adrenaline rush would take over and it wouldn't matter .

Dom - You better havej something on the bottom of the crutches to keep them from singing in the soft ground !

Call someone or try to shoot the deer close to your car and hope its final dash is in the correct direction.

I have an oldschool pack that I have and my Dad used back long time ago. I have called some but just would rather hunt alone on opener to many fidgets
