22 LR for yotes at night

Thanks, I don't wan to use high-power at night because of the noise problem.  I'd be calling them in after dark and shooting not any further than 50 yards.  

Ur good to go. But, you MUST do headshots. Even a vitals shot with a .22 could have you tracking for a loooooong time. Most .22 are accurate, so if your scoped and confident go for it. This is just like the .243 Vs deer topic. It's legal and if headshot I think ethical for a clean quick kill.

I havent had any experience with it, but you can get an ATN night vision scope that will do just as much, if not more for less money.

The other big upside for me is the cost of cr123's vs simply recharging batteries.  Plus I can use the red light headlamp to get in/out of woods during deer season instead of toting around the Wicked Light as I've been doing.

Although, if you ever had to go hand-to-hand with a yote, that WL would crack some skulls open!

Nightvision is just ok in my book. The way to go is thermal, but it's dang expensive. I can't justify it for the money though. Night vision is alot less but no where near as effective as thermal and it's expensive too.

I've heard good things for the cost. Downside is unless you have a nightvision scope your still gonna have to turn the lights on...

The Leupold is just a rebranded Seek with additional dollars attached to it. Ive been thinking about getting one to try out for scanning. They say they are good to 1000ft but Id like to try one before I buy it. They actually have one that you plug right into your phone that has an 1800ft capability.

I have to agree for what you're getting I think an ATN scope would be a better deal. I found the higher magnification scope for $579.99. Nice unit and really tempting at that price. My .222 only comes out when I decide to go out with my buddy for yotes so making a dedicated predator rig would be ok.

I killed 1 with my ruger mark 2 in my back yard with cci stingers. It ran about 40yds I also hit it with 9 out of 10 rounds. I like using my 22 hornet works good out to 100yds.
