Wild Turkeys also this time of year will look for seeds ready to germinate or low lying bulbs under the Earth like the prized Spring Beauty.  

Turkeys on the property for sure, but they don’t visit the spots I deer hunt for whatever reason in summer/fall.

Went to land today and planted winter rye, and checked cams since I was there even though it’s only been a week. Took 2 shots with bow too. Won’t be back till 10/1 opening day

I'd wait , you have some nice pics already of deer and what area.  If your going in there 10/1 I would just get them then.

I know i should wait. Guess I’ll just hope I pick the right spot morning of 10/1. Can always check cams midday that day and sit elsewhere in afternoon. These 2 cams are about 600yds apart in distance and huge difference in elevation. Just gotta hope I pick it right.

That’s my plan! Went thru all the pics last year and the big 8pt seems to be on highest ridge in mornings and lower ridge in afternoons.

Although I did shoot a buck up top early November jus before dark with xbow but maybe that was rut-related.

Took off 10/1 and 10/2 to hunt. All pumped up until Today when I Picked up my head too quick under deck. 5 staples.
It’s not super long the cut, only like 2”. But it’s pretty deep so I needed 5 large staples for 10-12 days to close it. They irrigated it to clean it and it felt like my brain was in the shower lol.
