I heard a few different birds gobbling before day break. I set up a decoy and moved back about 25 yards and settled in. As it began to get light out , I made a few soft tree yelps and followed it up with one fly down cackle. As I sat there , I started watching a few deer walking around. The next thing I know , I got 7 gobblers running towards my decoy. They were on top of me so fast , I couldn't raise my gun up. Finally I said to myself "screw it" and ever so slowly I raised up my gun , took aim and fired. He never knew what hit him. Those Hevi Shot 6"s are very impressive and blew half his feathers off.  Tale of the tape : 19 pounds , 10" beard  , 1" spurs and one funky toenail.
