R.I.P. Tim Grounds

[Water Rat]

Waterfowl legend Tim Grounds passed away in a 4 wheeler accident last weekend. Apparently he was spraying weeds at his hunting club when his atv overturned and rolled down a small embankment and then landed on top of him. He was a former world champion goose caller. He also made quality goose and duck calls. I didn't realize that he was from Johnson City...…..I used to drive by there on my way to Elmira.

I had seen that he died, I didn't hear that's how it happened. That's terrible. I guess I just assumed it was a heart attack or something. The guy could use a call for sure, awesome just to listen to.

I seen the video on Instagram at his funeral his son and about 25 others All with goose/duck calls just All blowing a cadence as a tribute. I have 2 of his goose calls and have always been favorites of mine.

I used to be very good at voice-calling geese. That was a lot of fun but required a constant stream of warm drinks. I don't know how the geese do it all day, every day.

I've never heard of this guy, but my deepest condolences to his family and friends. RIP brother.
