Savage Model 10 Predator in 243

Purchased new last year.   It’s a tack driver.   Accustock, accutrigger, 24” fluted barrel.   Includes extra magazine.   It’s topped with a leupold VX2 3-9x50 with LR duplex reticle.   And has leupold rings/bases.   I have my eye on another toy.

new the prices werre as follows:

savage model 10 - $750

leupold - $400

extra mag - $45

rings and bases - don’t recall

will sell whole package for $925 and will give a great deal on plenty of ammo if buyer likes.

As accurate if not more accurate than any rifle I own.   Shot both lighter and heavier grain bullets well too. Nice combo for predators and deer.

What other toy are you replacing it with?

I've been looking at smaller-ish caliber (.243, 25-06, 257 WBY - not so small) rifles. Any idea what the rig weighs scope and all?

I can weigh it.  Its not real light due to barrel profile (which also results in great accuracy)- probably around 8lbs.

Lets just say that the toy will let me see those yotes better at night.

if i didn't already have rifles to serve the same purpose (one being a Savage heavy barrel) I'd be all over it to. my savage model 10 is also the most accurate gun i own.

retirement, rainy day funds, kid college funds all get in the way. doesn't do much good to take the rest with ya when you're gone though.

i'm sure both are "just a phase" you grow out of it and into something else. as you know this stuff isn't as bad as the motor sports stuff those atvs, snomobiles, UTVs, etc are expensive.
