It’s not above the guy you replaced, it’s above the average player. It’s a very solid stat, doesn’t always account for time served if you will. Give me a guy with lower WAR who played 150 games over higher WAR for 125 for example

I was a Sox fan during all those Yankees titles. I went full Sox in 1994. It’s 5-4 Yanks in my lifetime.

Actually he should have been a 2B. But in the minors years ago they realized he wasn’t going to play over Pedroia so they moved him to RF. RF at Fenway is a ton of ground to cover.
