What kind of pear?

I picked one last night because it was soft, skin was tough. Didn't have a lot of flavor.

Looks like a d'anjou. But I'm just guessing.

Looks like a bartlett.  If there are more on the tree, pick them when they come off easily when you lift them up sideways.  They will still be green, but they will ripen on the counter or more quickly in a paper bag.

I agree with otto, Bartlett  not ripe yet and when they do they go to mush within a day. Pick em like that for canning.
