Any pheasants yet?

Fun morning in Darien!  Primer for my PM hunt!

Next time I go out it is  going to be for  Pheasant rabbit or squirrel  I think .

Hunting with No dog on public land  so what ever is open gets  hunted .  Just going for old fashion walk and stalk hunt .

A bunch of birds, some nice fish in the pond...now I just need a deer for the trifecta!

I got a hen Saturday.  Max did good finding it but still would not pick it up . Will bring me everything  else but will only sit next to the bird .lolol

Nice bunch of birds. Do you use a dog ? Max kicked up 4 on Friday . But they flew the wrong way . 2 went over water and I already know max wouldn't bring them back so I won't shoot at them over water.

At least he is finding birds for you, that can be the hardest part, especially in tall grass.  My Brittany would retrieve to hand just a couple of times an outing, after that he would just lay down next to the bird and wait for me.
