Sorry to hear about your wrecked plans. I have been in that situation myself. However, you never know how it will all work out. Maybe it will all work out better. That monster buck may be working your stand area a bit early this year  ;)

Ouch! my 4 day weekend Nov 3rd just turned into a regular weekend. We are taking on a big project at work and that comes first. I will have to do my 4 day weekend the 2nd week of bow, Oct 18th and 19th. A bit early but not hunting is worse!

And I bet you will see MORE bucks than you will in the November weekend.  I have had some great luck seeing bucks the first 3 weeks of October.  Many times they are still hanging around together in bachelor groups and I've had as many as four together just out of range from me.  One year while turkey hunting the second week of October I had the biggest buck I ever saw in NYS stroll to within 15 yards of where I was sitting on the ground.  A huge 10point buck and he never even knew I was there!  What a perfect  bow shot it would have been!!  I have a hunch you won't regret changing your 4 day weekend plans.

and Burt, so the camp isn't empty Steve863 and I will go hunt it for you. lol jk

I have 5 vacation days left to use this year, my boss was already asking me and another guy to figure out who is going to be off where so she can cover for us. haha

You two are always good for a laugh! I will be up there that weekend just not Monday and Tuesday.

Thanks to all for the confidence!

Since I work for a Jewish-religious institution, I basically only work Mondays, Tuesdays, and half day Wednesdays during the first 3 weeks of this October due to Rosh Hashanah and Succoth.  Unfortunately this is before deer season so I guess a lot of squirrels and hopefully a coyote or two will be in my future.

Man Toruk that schedule will be real nice once you get into bow hunting.

Doewacker, don't think haven't already thought of that.

It changes every year since their calendar doesn't exactly align with the Julian calendar which is the one everyone here in the state uses.  This year works out well for me for the most part but as an example, Yon Kippur falls on a Saturday this year which does me no good.  Next year, it might fall on a Tuesday or something like that.

Well thats good to know when you won't be there, I'll try not to leave too many gut piles for you to find.  :)

You better stay away from my doe at bow season. I told them to be on the lookout for two hillbillies looken to wack some doe! lol

You'd better talk to the bucks too.  Here's a pic of the nice buck we shot on your land last year when you weren't there.
