I'm new to hunting so please forgive me for the question.

If I go deer hunting but also want to try to hunt say Turkey or squirrels or anything else with a shotgun, am I allowed to bring both guns on the deer hunt or do I need to keep one in my car and then switch them out when needed?

You can bring as many guns as you want. Just remember you can't shoot a deer with a rim-fire or with bird shot. You more then likely not going to see any deer if your shooting guns off at other things. So make up your mind on what you want to hunt.

Many of us will tell you how often we're in the stand and want to shoot that annoying squirrel.  But most of us never do because we're too afraid it'll scare off that deer we hope is just around the corner.

I said you make your game plan that morning on what you're going to hunt and then just go hard core at it.

The other idea which I've done before is go with a buddy.  I'll bring a deer gun and have just as much fun helping him get his squirrels and his squirrels stalks hopefully drives some deer over to me, etc.

Last I knew it was quite clear in the regulations you could not have in possession bird shot/ buckshot while deer hunting. Besides, as mentioned previously, carrying two guns would be unwieldy, to say the least. Better to concentrate on one thing. Then if you get a deer, the last thing you will want is to have to carry out two long guns as well as a deer. Generally, as tempted as we are to blast annoying critters, etc. if you are deer hunting. keep things in your favor (and stay in your fellow hunters favors) and skip the small game while deer hunting. Now again, if you are bowhunting, most all of us carry small game blunts just for that purpose.
