Magnet Fishing

The only knowledge I have about Magnet Fishing I get is from Youtube !  It looks like a fun way to spend some time with my Grandson looking under the local bridge's and public fishing spots . Anybody have any experience with this ?

I was going to do this with my grandkids this year just didn’t get to it maybe next year

Did it off of Charles Bridge in Prague, Czech Republic.

Saw some panhandler was doing it there so I asked him if I could get a shot.  Basically it's just a magnet tied to the end of a rope.  Threw it as far out as we can and then pull it back.  It similar to metal detecting but in the water.  Pulled up all kinds of odds and ends.  Difference is that it appears they put some kind of metal in the money there so some coins came up every once in a while which is what he was after.  Tourist were throwing coins into the river and making wishes.  This dude was taking their wishes for a pint of beer.

I bought a magnet last summer to try this out and misplaced the magnet before I ever had a chance to take it out.

I did try it in the kitchen on the appliances the wife's wasn't  to thrilled lol.

She probably hid the magnet on me. Jk
