Dead yote's

I went up to camp this weekend to cut wood and on the way home yesterday I saw three dead yote's on the side of the thruway between exits 25 and 17. I mention this because I have never even seen one dead yote, never mind three in one day. Is there a possible population boom this year?

I think there is a boom every year with those critters.

It was actually causing traffic because everybody was slowing down to see what it was so I guess I am not the only one that hasnt seen a roadkill yote.

I don't think I have ever seen one either. I have seen plenty in the woods and on my trail camera though!

Exactly. Thats what has me curious. Are they becoming bolder to come out near highways now or are they being pushed out possibly.

wow thats pretty interesting. I agree I've never seen a dead roadkill coyote not to mention 3. Exit 25 - 17 is a pretty large area though.

Thats why I find it odd to see three within that large span. I also saw alot of deer out feeding at 2pm which I found odd.

We had a young coyote killed in the road in front of the house. I have seen a couple others over the years. It does happen, but I don't think it is all that common. To find three of them in that short a distance on the same day is really weird. It makes me wonder if somebody was dumping illegally shot coyotes. Probably not, but I suppose it's possible.

That is definitely a possibility that I didnt think about.

Dumping illegally shot coyotes? ON THE THRUWAY!! I don't know where you would even come up with that. I have seen coyotes on the road live and dead. Not that uncommon

I have unloaded on a few yotes in the middle of the night as of late.They like to come down and hang around the fence. I would say what you saw was from a pack of young yotes chasing a deer for a snack and the deer went across the road with the pack close behind and a few didnt make it across.Thats just a guess but it is strange to have 3 blasted at the same time in any road!!!

This weekend we had them yapping in the middle of the day. One ran past us in the woods in the afternoon. Too many for me in 8P.

They were not together in one spot. The three yotes were spread between exits 25 & 17. Thats why I found it odd.

I see them up this way from time to time. Most people slowing down think someone hit sombodys pet dog lol.

coyotes can be taken from october first on. day or night and you can use a spotlight when you hunt them .
