My AR 10 build

I think I got everything to assemble my first AR 10. I'll probably be asking questions!

Lower is done. I butchered the castle nut for the buffer tube. The armours wrench I bought is a POS

Looking good.  The right tools makes it 10x easier.  What cal?

The right pin punches makes setting the roll pin in the gas block much easier.

Ok, she is built. I was always afraid to mess with my 15. I won't be anymore. I have two issues. Not sure if it is assembly issue or a cheap part issue. The dust cover doesn't stay up and the bolt catch doesn't catch the carrier. I put a mag lock on it and want to make sure that bolt catch is fully working and I can't figure out why it isn't. I sure dont want my fingers in there right now.

The detent has two ends.   One is thinner and the other rounded.  The thinner part sits in spring.  The rounded faces out.  Just a thought.

I know you pinned it but you could try a different mag too

I took it back apart and the spring is correct. It seems to be functioning properly. Glad that isnt a roll pin on the 10. I'll mess with it another time.

Lube it up and work that action a bit.  Something might be a touch tight.  Nice gun!

Which mag lock did you use neither AR10 sizes fit mine I’m almost thinking the standard ar 15 size will

I just went through this. Need to order different bolt catch. I order a strong side tactical ar-10 version.

This is what I used. Got one for the 15 as well but haven't installed it yet.

Yea it’s weird the pin piece is too long, I actually put a standard ar 15 mag release and button on my 10 and it fit so I may just go that route

I have to figure out the bolt catch...was going to mess with it today but I don't feel like it.
