Thanks Red!

I headed back to where I found the last 2 freshies today. I wanted to take a look down lower in some pine stands but didn't find anything in there.

Pretty uneventful day right up till the time I was ready to head out. I got to the site where I found the kick stand antler on the side hill the other day, and decided to do a quick pass through the thickets about 50yds away. Glad I did! There lied the mate to the kickstand horn!

#17!

Reunited at last! I'm taking the day off to rest my leg tomorrow...took a spill today and got a sore knee out of it.

I got into a spot today with so much deer sign I thought for sure I was gonna find at least 5 antlers right from the start but never found a single one.

I did find a few dead deer and an old skull but I'm guessing this spot got hit pretty hard already.

Here's my little skull from the day.

A little further along I found this dead buck with his horns sawed off already. Lots of boot prints in here so I'm probably a little late again.

I also cut through an orchard about a mile long. The apples still on the ground was amazing but again not an antler in site. I could have filled a bushel full of these things and made a delicious pie tonight..that's how good a shape they were still in. I'm a little confused after what I didn't find todays hike.

Also came across another dead doe. I suppose I'll try again tomorrow!

Spent a good part of the day picking apart another overgrown field where I've been seeing the bucks lately. I've been through here a few times already and found nothing but it's big enough to give it one more look before checking back closer to spring.

Well anyhow, besides my few old antler pieces I've ever found dragged up a tree by the squills, today I came across my first true hanging antler! Sun bleached white and not a tooth mark on it. No idea how old this thing is but it sure aint fresh, lol. A nice 4pt side with another base booger point! #18

Pickin's are getting slim for me lately. I think it's time to move on. Last few hikes have only turned up a young 1- horned deadhead and a couple 'oldie' young buck skulls.

Thought I was back in business today when I saw a small rack in the field. Turned out to be a busted rack. I'll throw it on the pile with his friends and get on with locating some more freshies. Not a shed, but still antler #19.

Things have really slowed down for me in the antler department so I'm taking advantage of the down time to get caught up on some pics.

Maybe more bucks then I expected are still carrying. Here's a few I caught back on Feb 5'th.

Last night I got a shot of this little uni-horn up at the cornfield.

Todays hike was another uneventfull one. I'm really scratching my head as to where my next shed will turn up.

I did come across another fresh dead buck today(6'th of the season), a little 6pt.

...and here's a shot of all my little skull finds so far this year taken before the last 2 dead bucks.

That first guy is right behind my house so I'm in no hurry to rush him to drop. I can get after them horns after I cover some of my other spots that I don't get to spend as much time in or need to travel to. Worse case scenario, I'll have his set of oldies laying around close to home to kick off an early start to next shed season!

Finally Im on the board. Found a matching set to a 2.5 yr old 8 point. and a small 2 point side yesterday while shed hunting with my daughter. I found the 1st 4 point side and then did a search of the rest of the area looking for the match. Didnt find it so we went for a long walk down the trails looking and found the small 2 point side. We ended up back where I found the 4 point. I stopped where I found the one side and holy crap there is the other side laying right where I found the other half. Amazing how well they can hide and makes me wonder how many I have walked past. Pic will come soon.

Sounds like a couple of great finds...get them pics up!

I wish every day was a multiple antler day like yours, but I'm struggling with a mess of dead deer finds my last few hikes.

Grats on getting the first 3 out of the way...when's the next hike?

I hope to get out a few days this week for a few hours. I need to find the other half to the 2 point and I know its there. Its just a nasty overgrown apple orchard. I probably walked right by it a few times. But hard to concentrate with the daughter whining about the pricker bushes. :D Then it will be a mile hike up creek from there to another overgrown orchard that has yielded some finds in the past. Just need the snow to stop. We keep getting these annoying little dustings that are making things hard to see. And I have some really nice pics, but my cell is giving me problems. I will have to get somewhere in the morning where there is better reception and give it another shot.

OK 1st two pics are from Sat. Third pic is the one I found today. Not sure what to call it. When I first saw it I just about crapped my pants as it would have been the biggest shed I have ever found. But when I picked it up it was sawed off. Found it laying in the middle of a tall grass field. Lost rattling antler? Mice did a number on it. Searched for 2 hrs for the other half of the 2 point and came up with nothing, no freshies today. Guess its time to start lifting rocks again to find where they are hiding them.

I've been out darn near every day since my last find but haven't come across anything but a few more dead deer. It's getting pretty frustrating.

Still got 4 or 5 other spots I haven't been to yet. I'll check a few out this week once the rain melts off the last of our snow. For now I'm just going back through some areas I've already combed over pretty good looking for any stragglers.

Nice finds BTW erussel.....I wish they all dropped in sets like that!

Thank's, I think it was more of a fluke than anything. I usually only find one shed a yr and to find 3 in one day is unheard of for me. I do have a theory though, that my daughter is a shed hunting good luck charm. :D I had to pospone my PA shed trip due to snow last week and have it set up for this weekend. Though we are suppose to get 2-4 inches tonight again. But it is suppose to be close to 50 on Thu and Fri so hopefully it will be gone by Sat.
