Today I ended up getting a great deal on a 26" fluted Stainless Pro Hunter barrel, so she will be ready to go for ML this coming season. Ill post pics once I get a forearm and put it all together.

The barrel came in today. Should be picking up the forearm tomorrow or early next week.

I ordered my scope today. I was slightly bummed that I couldnt get it in matte silver to match the stainless, but figure it will look fine in matte black. I got a good deal on the Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44 with their V-Plex reticle (http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-viper-hs-2-5-10x44-riflescope-with-v-plex-moa-reticle). I also picked up the corresponding set of Butler Creek flip up caps for it. Once it comes in, I will figure out what height rings to get. I am going to go with the Leupold Dovetail rings and bases so that there is no question on how solid the scope mount is.

Does that barrel already have a scope base on it? It looks like it does. I don't think Leupold dovetail rings would work with that type of base. I don't think Leupold even makes dovetail bases to fit right onto a barrel. Not 100% sure what Leupold has for this T/C rifle, but I am quite sure that dovetail rings would not fit on the type of base that appears to be on this barrel. T/C does sell it's own rings which are quite good. I wouldn't hesitate to get them.

The base thats on it will come off. The Leupold Dovetails are available for it. I know someone that has them on his Encore.

OK then, I wasn't sure if you wanted to take the current base off, since it already came with the barrel. Like I said, I don't think the rings you could get for the base on the gun is a bad set up either.

I could get the Weaver Grand Slams like I have on my slug gun, which are very nice rings and Ive been very happy with them. Ill have to compare the prices on those vs the Leupolds and figure out what to do.

Ever try one of the one piece bases where just the top part of the rings come off???

looks nice. now go shoot it. I would strongly recommend blackhorn 209 powder. Just my opinion.

As soon as she's all together I will be taking it out. I plan on going the Blackhorn route. Going to try the rest of the Hornady bullets I have left and see how they do.

For my T/C's I only use them.... VERY nice set up.... Check them out... I think there are two differnt companies making them... I'll go try to find the names.. for the life of me they are not comnig to me...

I checked a ring height chart and it looks like I need medium rings. I like the looks of that Talley mount. The price is pretty comparable to any other set of good rings. Thanks Grizz, I think thats the way Ill go with it.

Well, my scope came in. I love it, best glass ive ever looked through. I discovered ihad a set of Weaver Super Slam rings around, but they are high and im not sure I wont get a set of mediums, it just seems too high to me. Heres a quick pic...
