Always steel. Far superior strength and durability.

But it’s attaching to an aluminum tube ?

Seems like there would be a difference in expansion in hot or cold .,,

And I just noticed I have “ high” rings, wouldn’t I want low on a shotgun ??

I only use steel. All the scopes I have mounted  in the last few years have been mounted with weaver grand slams. They have held up to some pretty stout loads from my handguns.. shotguns .. and rifles . In the end the weak point will be the screws in the base or metal in the receiver.

I am sure highs will “work”.   Probably not ideal for cheek weld but you have them already.    Give em a try.   Generally the closer to the barrel the scope is, the better but this is a shotgun and not a long range rifle. Good luck.

Yea It just looks like little difference between the low and high
