nybuckboy
I have a 10 yr old Fox Pro call. What’s the best call to start the night or day with? Is a calf balling call a good one? Rabbit, etc?
silent death
Just now, nybuckboy said: I have a 10 yr old Fox Pro call. What’s the best call to start the night or day with? The Rabbit call is a bit over used but on unpressured coyote it will work pending on your calls if u have rodent in distress or nutty nut hatch they work good for fox or coyotes
Water Rat
I had a bobcat come in using the “titmouse tantrum” call. I think any high pitched bird calls would work for bobcats and foxes. Maybe a bigger prey species call would be better for coyotes. It also helps to have a remote control decoy to seal the deal. Just my 2 cents.

If so morning late afternoon I do not consider myself any kind of expert Varmint hunter but I do have pretty fair luck. When I first started dabbling in Varmint calling many years ago daytime hunting was the only way it was done. I have stuck with that method so all of my predator hunting has always been during daylight hours, I like mornings up to about 10 am best but have had decent luck in the hour just before dark. I have found a hungry varmint comes to the call just about any time. Al

Gencountyzeek
Definitely stick with distress sounds for daytime hunting, mouse, rabbit, bird. Maybe if a yote hangs up outta range try a pup distress. Goodluck Edited January 12, 2021 by Gencountyzeek
