ADK Native
https://www.albanyny.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=290 The article states “Effectively immediately, Mayor Sheehan has declared a State of Emergency in response to recent gun violence” So since “Gun Control” did not work, the gun haters went to “Gun Safety” that does not work, so now we need a “State of Emergency “ to stop “gun violence”? The article states “A preliminary investigation by the Albany Police Department indicates there appears to be a connection between Café Hollywood and the shooting incident that occurred early Friday morning”. OK, so what kind of activity is going on at “Café Hollywood”? What are the people populating a location with a high incident of gun violence actually doing that is contrary to peaceful behavior? The real problem is just how far a “State of Emergency” could go that can deny us our civil rights and our rights under the Second Amendment.

SportsmanNH
I just read that article and saw the term " Gun Violence " used 12 times . Not once did they use the term " Criminal " .
Grouse
The majority of violence in this country, about 93% of it, does NOT involve a firearm at all. I don't see Democrats calling for an end to that violence, just violence involving a firearm. Plus any shooting, self defense, justified homicide, or law enforcement shooting, is added to their tally to make "gun violence" seem like it needs to be declared a "State of Emergency" or a "Public Health Issue". What we have is not a "gun violence" problem, but a violence problem. Interestingly, a lot of the violence problem is solved in states that allow more responsible people to carry firearms. Albany would be wise to look into that data set.
ADK Native
The article states "FURTHER, in the event the disaster is beyond the capacity of the City of Albany to meet adequately, and state assistance is necessary to supplement local efforts to save lives and to protect property, public health and safety, or to avert or lessen the threat of a disaster, I hereby call on the Governor of the State of New York to continue to provide additional assistance as deemed necessary." "I hereby call on the Governor of the State of New York to continue to provide additional assistance as deemed necessary." Call on Governor Cuomo to deal with violent crime? Cuomo's response has (ex. SAFE Act) and always will be more gun control that only limits and prevents access to firearms to law abiding citizen while not fixing the violent crime problem. Cuomo further compounds the problem that escalates violent crime with his soft treatment of violent criminals.
SportsmanNH
Meanwhile , back at the NYC ranch , looks like another masked BLM or ANTIFA scumbag was short a few bucks and decided what was in this 68 year old's pockets belonged to him. Dont worry about him though. He will walk in and out of court with bail reform claiming to be the victim because he was a few buck short and needed it to buy his next drug fix . But its ok with the courts. After all its just some old guy with white privilege. No big deal , Right Lefties ?
Nomad
I don’t like to say “ The Wild West ,” because the West wasn’t all that wild , but is the Wild West here ! RPD is way short staffed and getting worse , 15 more cops left this month , 12 retired,3 went to,other agencies ,the ones left are working double shifts . The OT the cops are making is crazy, meaning their pensions are going up by big numbers . Look for a major number to retire in a year or two because of the OT . Then we’re really on our own .
