burmjohn
Welp, I was down to 6 arrows, and while inspecting my bow after shooting on Sat I noticed a hair line crack in the sight. I've been putting off ordering stuff for a while. I have some standard carbon express arrows that came with my bow on my ebay deal I got 4 years ago that I have wanted to upgrade anyways. I went with this sight (no I did not pay $219 or anything close)... Field Logic IQ 7 pin bow sight - http://www.iqbowsigh...ducts/7-Pin.php After reading some reviews, it seems pretty neat. For the arrows, I went with the carbon express maxima kv 350's... I originally was going to go with the regular maxima's at the recommendation of my buddy Joe and from what a few others said on the forum. But after finding a great deal after BS'ing with a few guys on ebay, I went with these. http://www.carbonexp...axima-hunter-kv If the deal works out OK I'll post some more info. Hoping I'll see some tighter groups with the stiffer / better arrows! We shall see...

NYbuck50
There are a couple of videos on youtube about setting up the retina lock.. It looks pretty basic. I talked to one guy who has one, and he said the most important thing is to sight in your first pin before trying to align the dot.. Keep me posted and good luck Here is one of the video's

wooffer
I am not sure I see the need for this type of sight. It looks like its only purpose it to make sure you are not torqueing your grip when shooting. Is there something I am missing?

NYbuck50
John, Hows the IQ working out? I ordered one off that site, waiting for new bow to arrive to put it on.. What do u think? Is the retinalock worth it?
wooffer
That's prety much it. Sent from my Kindle Fire using Tapatalk I found that if I cradle the grip in between my thumb and pointer finger and not wrap my fingers around the grip I never torque it. I learnt that from watching the pros.
burmjohn
Its on the bow. Have not shot it yet, waiting for this cut to heal on my hand. Might try to hit range tomorrow. Sent via mobile (tapatalk)

nybuckboy
I am not sure I see the need for this type of sight. It looks like its only purpose it to make sure you are not torqueing your grip when shooting. Is there something I am missing? The key to the retina lock really is to eliminate the peep sight. It does tell you if you are torqueing the bow as well. Once this type of device... retina lock, no-peep, anchor sight are set up you do not use a peep sight. This type of device replaces the traditional in the string peep sight. It assure that that your line up perfect each time as well as shows you whether the bow is torqued. I've been uses the no-peep alignment device from Timberland Archery (out of business) for about 6 years and will never go back to a peep. If I had to replace this device, I'd probably buy the Anchor Sight, but would not rule out the Retina Lock.
fasteddie
The thing that helped me from torqueing the bow was adding a Wrist Sling . I used to grip the bow as I was afraid of dropping it . The sling eliminated this fear .
nyslowhand
Is that true? The bubble level on the IQ sight that accurate/precise that you don't need a peep?
hunterguy1961
I thought that I was the only one out there to grip my bow that way , I'm very disappointed that my idea can no longer be patented lol
fasteddie
My youngest son has the Timberland Archery "No Peep" on his bow and shoots off the string with no Peep Sight at all . I did install a Kisser Button on his string though .
