Red
i was working out in the southerntier yesterday near the town of piffard off of route 36 i seen 3 deer run out in front of the s10 that was in front of me it ended up hitting 2 out of the 3 deer the only one to get away was bambi. i got out to help the one deer was still kicking i went to see if the driver was ok and give a hand tossing one of the deer out of the road then i was gonna go back and end the other deers suffering but by time i got back she had already expired. both dead deer were doe. growalot
That's too bad....thank God it was only deer...I lived in Piffard and that road is a death trap to live near and drive on...and the strange thing is ...it's pretty straight! super glad no one was hurt...I was several car lengths behind a van that hit a deer...I thought what I was seeing was a piece of card board flying through the air...it was going end over end and just missed the car in front of me...we all pulled over...and there it was on the side of the road...a doe!!... she was positioned like she was just laying there sitting up taking in the view...the guy in front of me and I both got out and approached her....she stood up and hopped over the guard rail and walked away...He looked at me and said what the hell?!...I shrugged and we both got in are cars a left...lol
fasteddie
Piffard in the southherntier ? C'mon red , it's western NY . I also used to live in Piffard and had relatives that lived there . There used to be a lot of accidents when folks would be haulin' butt down the hill and try to beat the train . A lot of houses were removed and they eliminated "dead man's curve" . There are a lot of deer on the other side of the fence on property that used to belong to Lucidol ( a chemical company ) .

wooly
I've never hit one head on but had 3 of them run into the side of my truck. Same location on 3 separate occasions. Two of them were consecutive mornings on my way to the hunt.

WNYBuckHunter
Yeah Piffard isnt even close to being in the Southern Tier. You gotta be south of Dansville for that!
