  1. I trapped this tom in 2021. It took a while for the taxidermist to get the pelt back.

  2. Spent a fun Sunday afternoon with an old shootin Buddy Tim Findlay breaking in the refurbed range. Tim brought over two new firearms to test and sight, a Sig Sauer 938 9mm and an absolutely gorgeous Winchester Low Wall Single Shot 223. I was shooting my old Winchester Model 52 bench gun 22 and the Christensen Arms Ranger 22 that I have just upgraded the trigger on with a Timney Hit Trigger and man it is nice. After working my ass off around here all summer it sure was great to have some fun. Al Some pics below, Tim with his Winchester Low Wall , the Sig 938, the Model 52 and the Ranger.

  5. I left the house this evening at 11PM to run downtown and saw a doe crossing the road in front of me about 1/2 mile from my driveway. As I got closer, I saw another deer on the side of the road in the brush, so I slowed to be sure it wouldn't get hit if it decided to run out into the road to follow the doe. Imagine my surprise when I saw a nice 10 point buck in full velvet staring at me as I got close. It turned away from the road and trotted back into the brush as I passed. That was enough to lift my spirits and give me a positive attitude for this upcoming hunting season.

  6. Upon hearing that her elderly grandfather had just passed away, Katie went straight to her grandparent's house to visit her 95 year-old grandmother and comfort her. When she asked how her grandfather had died, her grandmother replied, "He had a heart attack while we were making love on Sunday morning." Horrified, Katie told her grandmother that 2 people nearly 100 years old having sex would surely be asking for trouble. "Oh no, my dear," replied granny. "Many years ago, realizing our advanced age, we figured out the best time to do it was when the church bells would start to ring. It was just the right rhythm. Nice and slow and even. Nothing too strenuous, simply in on the Ding and out on the Dong." She paused to wipe away a tear, and continued, "He'd still be alive if the ice cream truck hadn't come along.
