Was out driving around and noticed a lot of deer on the move in the rainy weather. Was coming up my road and saw this, she stayed long enough to give me a great picture. I may have this one framed and put in the bunk house. On a side not we did a lot of driving yesterday to West Point and back. I just noticed an alarming amount of road kill. These animals are moving about so be careful.9 points

Geneva 14-Point buck Troy Studer, 29-year-old resident of Geneva, shot his first extra-large deer on Friday, Oct. 4, just four days into bow season, with a bow on his property in the town of Geneva. The deer was an enormous 14-point buck with five drop tines. To give perspective on how rare this is: A single drop tine only occurs in about 1 in 500,000 bucks, meaning a deer with five drop tines has a probability of about 1 in 3,125,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. This is an astronomically rare, almost impossible event. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime (or several-lifetimes) kind of deer.6 points

Hey shout out to my Brother in law Mark over in Schuylar county! I have been hunting with him for 35 years or so. We went to a traditional bow shoot in PA last summer it was great. He ordered a stick bow and practiced with it a lot this summer. All came together this morning. 18 yard heart shot on a big doe. So proud of him!!!!!!4 points

I do not care how anyone votes , but I'm thinking that every time I see a Harris / Walz sign on a lawn there should also be a " Future Home for Illegals " sign on that same lawn ..... that's what they're Voting for correct ? Or is that way too Logical ?2 points

The deer are more laid back early bow season. During the breeding season, it all goes into fast forward. I like to be out early, catch a glimpse of something harvestable. Doe take a pass right now for us. We figure the more decoys in the field, the better chance for a mature buck to hit the ground. It works for us.2 points

We are becoming a society of lawlessness, no consequences for breaking laws, these days there are some that think it is their right to steal from others. Al2 points

The game warden asked the man, “Do you have a license to catch those fish?” The man replied to the game warden, “No, sir. These are my pet fish.” “Pet fish?!” the warden replied. “Yes, sir. Every night I take these here fish down to the lake and let them swim around for a while. I whistle and they jump back into their buckets, and I take em home.” “That’s a bunch of crap! Fish can’t do that!” replied the warden in disbelief. The man looked at the game warden for a moment and then said, “Here, I’ll show you. It really works.” “O.K. I’ve GOT to see this!” The game warden was curious. The man poured the fish into the river and stood and waited… After several minutes, the game warden turned to the man and said, “Well?” “Well, what?” the man responded. “When are you going to call them back?” the game warden prompted. “Call who back?” the man asked. “The FISH,” the warden said sternly. “What fish?” the man asked.1 point

I crack up at these big name personalities-stars and politicians scrambling about, and tossing their endorsements to the various political candidates. Like it is going to influence who I vote for-NOT!!!. My votes go to the party whose candidate and policies support "ME" and my outdoor life style. REPUBLICAN all the way down the line! Al1 point

I tried a piece of carpet to put my feet on the first year out. It attracted rodents. Went with the rubber mat. Also must add some insulating value to the floor.1 point

I have never seen a more complacent group of people than those that enjoy and participate in the outdoor sports. I had one x member tell me this board is not the place for politics that have a direct relationship to the outdoors. If this is not the place to discuss such things where the hell do you discuss them. Some of these people stick their heads in the sand thinking all these crap laws are just going to go away, don't talk about it! Of course many were closet Democrats and so called Independents and just can not stand to be reminded of what their voting is doing to this country, so just eliminate it. As our freedoms keep crumbling away day by day they have no one to blame but themselves for not speaking up and doing something about it. Shhhhhhh! is their answer. It is a fight! Grow a pair!! Since a lot of political activity is a threat to hunting and firearm ownership, it behooves all sportsmen and outdoorsmen to stay informed about the latest political developments that threaten our favorite past time. Escapism is natural, but as Plato warned us, "The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs, is to be ruled by evil men." Some things are intolerable, but necessary.1 point
