  2. Thus far, I have seen no concrete action to restore the gun rights we lost to Cuomo's new gun lasws. Marchione threatens repeal action but has done nothing...Law enforcement agencies offer mild protests and promise to enforce the laws...meeting after meeting is held...letter after letter is written, and NOTHING concrete has been done...at least nothing that I know of. Let's use this thread to report REAL ACTION undertaken to restore/protect our gun rights. (No "good intentions"...no "lip service"...just real action(s) that may have a positive effect.) I look forward, with little hope, to seeing something soon.

  3. 'Bout damned time. Lake effect snow always amazes me. The way the band moves like an arm, slowly up then slowly down. Sometimes it stalls over a very narrow area and dumps a TON of snow. We had one blast probably 13-14 years ago that stopped right over us and left 3.5-4.5 feet of snow in a very band. You could go north or south 2 miles each way and it was zip, nothing nada. Meanwhile people were stranded in their rigs and it was a bad scene. It came on opening day of deer season and I thought my wife was joking when I called her that night after getting back to camp after a long day in the stand and nothing but memories to show for it! We had a sporty ride back home the next day. As we got closer to home it was like riding the Rubicon Trail!! Well here it is, FINALLY! It has slowed down now so I snapped a quick one......... The band has traveled north to Tonawanda, North Tonawanda, Clarence, Pendelton etc. It'll probably be shifting back our way later this afternoon. I know this little dumping pales in comparison to many of your locales but until I see a picture, I won't believe it. <Hint>

  4. Not that this fits the description of "concrete action to restore the gun rights we lost to Cuomo's new gun laws", but I would simply like to proudly proclaim that my County Board of Supervisers (Ontario County) is in the process of drafting a resolution opposing the passage of the NY Safe Act. It doesn't really mean anything other than to show Cuomo that not all areas of government have turned on gun owners. I did read something the other day about the NYSPRA law suit Dinsdale mentioned in his reply. I want to caution you not to expect the legal action to fly through as quickly as Cuomo slipped it to us with his anti-gun "Gotcha law". We have to grind it out in the normal, legal fashion.

  7. So, they say that the hunt promotes violence in kids.. ???.... How come there was less violence when hunting was more accepted., and more kids were into it. .These animal rights people piss me off big time, and many of them are hypocrites .. I unfortunately know some, but it is fun to tell them hunting stories to play with their empty heads I hope that the event goes on as scheduled and it's a great success..I can't even imagine how much grief there would be if they advertised a hunt like that down here.... I am computer illiterate and don't quite understand facebook, so I wouldn't know how to look at their page.. I don't know a twitter from a tweet(if there's a difference. ) I should have waited to read this until lunch time. It would make good reading while I ate today's entree, boiled, then sauteed squirrel..

  9. Geeze, you guys make me feel old...hehehe.. I have SOCKS older than those shells..Hehehehe.. It really depends on how the ammo was stored, but unless they were exposed to REALLY extreme conditions of heat, cold, dampness. etc. any plastic shot shells should be fine..There is no safety issue.... Go ahead and shoot them... The worst you might get is a misfire..They are not going to blow up in your face. Paper shells are somewhat less weatherproof, but if they have been stored in fairly dry temperate conditions they hold up pretty well too.. I love paper shotshells ( they remind me of my youth) and have shot quite a few over the years, some dating back into the 1920s... I have had a few duds, but most them went BANG just like modern shells, and lo and behold, they still KILL stuff just like modern shells.. Shoot 'em and enjoy 'em... I can remember when Remington introduced the first plastic shotshells in the early 1960s..In fact, I have an accumulation ( rather than a collection) of vintage ammo, and I have a few of Remington's first plastic shells...One piece plastic wads had not been developed yet...They are in a fairly transparent green plastic casing and you can see the shot, the fiber wad and the powder.. It was pretty cool stuff back in those days..

  11. I was sure that with some of the research that I have done on gunlaws that military active or vetran were exemt from civilian laws.I may be wrong but in my opinion these men and women defend us so I think if they have somethings that the general public dont/cannot have then so be it.Thankyou to all of those that have and will serve our country.

  12. I believe that if they were "in plain sight", like laying on the seat or somewhere else where the cop doesn't have to root around in the car, I believe that discovery under those circumstances is allowed.

  13. What's even funnier is as I was playing back the video on my laptop, Milo heard himself barking and started running all over the house trying to find where the barking was coming from.

  14. NEW YORK STATE -- The nation's strictest gun law is seeing its first legal challenge. The State Rifle and Pistol Association has filed a notice of claim to overturn New York’s sweeping gun control law, the NY SAFE Act. The claim takes issue with the gun control law and its updated ban on assault weapons, challenging the constitutionality of the measure. In the notice of claim, the association says the law violates the U.S. Constitution’s Commerce Clause, as well as violations of due process and unlawful seizure of property. The law has new restrictions on the private sale of firearms and requires registration of previously unregistered assault weapons. The claim also says that “the legislation is impermissibly vague and overboard.” A claim like this is generally a precursor to a full-blown lawsuit.
