  1. Things are really heating up. Had a great hunt yesterday afternoon. Picked my daughter up from school and headed to my stand. Got in stand at 330 at 345 I see a decent 8 about 70-80 yards away, zig zagging head down sniffing. He leaves. About 15 minutes later I see a small buck in the same area. I decide to call to him for the hell of it. He starts coming to me, at the same time I look to the right and another buck is coming. He thinks the other deer grunted. They meet right in front of my stand 20 yards broadside. The both posture up, hair up, ears back, stiff legged for a fight. Right before they go at it here comes a doe running with a another buck chasing her. These 2 bucks run off to chase the doe too. 3 bucks chasing the one poor doe. Little bit after that another buck is sniffing on the trail that that doe ran off. Right before dark had another buck walk past behind me. Total 5 different bucks. Nothing big yet. Back out this morning had a little guy at 15 yards and a small buck behind me. Can't wait to hit the stand again in the morning.
  2. Cool, get out there and get him. I headed out in the am, gotta stay local because of the gas situation. Still no power, this sucks!
  3. Going out tomorrow morning, we'll see. Geno, was the buck in you saw the one in the pic?
  4. Dam, looks like he is part pig. I don't think they have their babies till Feb. My guess is a big fat boar.

    4O

Went up over the weekend. Even with me sleeping half the time I saw a bunch of does and small bucks. Lots of forkies. Thought about sticking a doe but it was real warm out and didn't want to deal with it. I was actually looking to shoot a coyote with my bow more than anything.

    4O

I've been trying to catch them for years. They are still just too fast for me...........

    4O

    Rough? What do you mean?

    4O

Anybody hunting 4O?. I'm heading up this weekend(Meredith), hopefully it doesn't rain.
  11. That sucks, but it happens. Hopefully you will get another crack at him.
  12. Well, I can't say for sure your not crazy, lol. But a broadhead will not spark on bone. The only thing I can think of other than a rock is maybe something to do with those rage broadheads opening??? Don't know. If there is no blood on the arrow and you think you hit high maybe it just nicked off the spine. Maybe a arrow nicking off his spine made him make some noises after the shot. Give a good look around tomorrow and good luck.
  13. He got busted a couple of years ago for selling peoples venision.
  14. That is the exact book I read front to back 2 yrs ago when I gut shot my buck. It's pretty good, but it said to wait 4-6 hrs for a gut shot deer. WRONG. That should be longer. I waited 6 and a half and bumped him. It should be more like 8 hrs. I realize every deer is different though.
  15. Cool. Alway enjoy your vids. Was her elbow shot? What are you shooting? What part of NY?
  16. X2. I've been there. He's dead, just a matter of where. Good luck.
  17. Whatever. I wasted enough time. I really don't care what you believe.
  18. Wow. You have some issues. Go back on your meds. Responding to you is a complete waste of time. I can only hope it happens to you.
  19. How sad, the know it all can't admit he is wrong. My comprehension is fine, it's yours that is lacking. All in quotes: The Bottom Line: But on occasion I know you can drill a deer through no mans land because I have seen it happen. One time I shot a buck on camera for my tv show. We reviewed the footage in slo mo, high just below the spine. We looked for a day little blood no deer. Two days later we filmed the same buck nudging 80 yards away in a field. We filmed both sides of the deer's body for documentation. You can clearly see the arrow's entrance and exit holes through no mans land. And the buck was fine.
  20. I donated my mulie too. Same thing, $100 processing fee to donate it. What airline did you fly? Did they charge extra for the antlers?
  21. Cool! I love recovering my bullets when I can. I have a nice little collection. That was picture perfect expansion right there. Anybody that says a .243 isn't enough gun for deer should take note. That bullet traveled the entire length of that deer.
  22. Geno is right. I live right around the corner from there. I see deer hit by cars on that road all the time. Joe blow sees a buck on the side of the road, recently hit, and cuts off the antlers. Happens all the time.
  23. Cool pics Biz. Looks like a great trip. Two nice bucks! Congrats. I love it out west!
  24. I guess Steve B and Sam just know more that Dr. Woods, one of the nations top deer biologists. Doesn't surprise me. You guys just keep going on thinking you know it all and having those closed minds. I won't waste my time trying to change that.
  25. I have been using it for my RR arms .223 for a few years now. Meters really well. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe it is 26.0 grs over 50gr V max. Really good load for my rifle.
