I forgot, I did have them corned recently, and it wasn't bad. Pretty simple to do too.

They absolutely do not taste like chicken or beef. Fairly dark meat, strong flavor. Similar to duck. I do a lot of goose hunting, we shoot 2-3 hundred a season. I haven't had them any way I really like so I just jerky them all and give away what I can.

Wow! Good luck to you Geno. I was just gonna call you to shoot 3D too. I know you will miss the deer hunting, but some things are more important. Do what you have to do. I'll send you pics of the long island bucks!

Bowhunter safety course is required. A bowhunting privilege license is not. Not on long island.

Greybeard, getting a replacement certificate is just a phone call. Call 1-888-hunt-ed2. They only go back to 1980 so hopefully you took it after that. I lost mine about 10 years ago and it was really easy to get a new one. I think I had it within a few days if I remember correctly. Good luck

Nice! Oh do I miss the days of good woodchuck hunting. There hasn't been anything to shoot by me(Delaware) in 15 yrs or so. Most people blame the coyotes, but I'm not sure why.

Cool, whos the outfitter? Since we are bragging, I'm leaving for Montana this Sunday for a 4 day praire dog assault. Then Texas for hogs in January, then New Mexico Elk, Oct 2014. All booked, can't wait.

There are some good boats at Captree, right now they would be fishing for fluke. I think the last boat I was on out there was Tradewinds. But I think the North shore advice is right on if you just want to catch fish with a kid. I was on the Celtic Quest just yesterday for a friends birthday party and we caught a bunch of jumbo porgys. I would recommend bringing your own light action pole if you have one. Much more fun than those big boat poles. Good luck.

I like Cabelas, been using them for 30 years but I don't want one in NY. I would rather shop online and have it shipped for free or close to it and not have to pay tax.

I know the feeling. There is still time. Dragged myself outta bed yesterday and was rewarded with a gobbling maniac tom that met his maker within a half hour. Was back in bed before the family woke up. Go get em.
