  1. Hmmmmmmmmm, that sounds like a tip with potential. lmao FDXX75
  2. Yep, kinda hard to scan them stone tablets.................lmao Headlines read................Pygmy bags huge buckarasorous near the tar pits. FDXX75
  3. Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Meaning gas prices in the USA catch up to a lot of the other countries, I have a friend that lives in Brasil and gas was $4.00 a gal. back in 1982 when he came to visit me. Some countries pay nearly $8.00 a gal for unleaded. Maybe we should consider ourselves lucky.................................I hate the costs as much as the next guy, so just what is it "WE" all have to do to make it stop????????? Now that seems to be the question, but there doesn't seem to be an answer...................................... FDXX75

  5. But your fuel mileage goes down the tubes, and you cant tow anything using the E85. It doesnt actually work out. And your car doesnt know you put E85 in the tank, it calculates your range by looking at how much fuel you are consuming per mile and how much fuel you have in the tank. Yes I get less milage but Not down the tubes. I don't tow anything? Where did that come from? FACT: I have filled the tank with E85 and regular gas. Without moving the truck the computer knows what gas mileage you will get by the fuel in the tank. The only "FACT" is the fuel tank sending unit registers the level in the tank (whether it be reg, E85, water or anything else that increases it) the onboard computer then calculates the "estimated" amount, distant that can be traveled, etc. based on the last MPG rating the computer registered before the fill up...................it then recalibrates as you drive. There is absolutely nothing that tells the vehicle what is being put for fuel........................automatically. Even if it did, the computer would still recalibrate as you drive. Hell, I could pour a bucket of marbles in the tank and change the reading on the gauge and fool the computer, it works on volume. FDXX75 The fuel sensor picks up the texture of the fuel, it knows the difference between reg gas and E85. Three different Chevy dealers all the same answer. I move on now. Good day. Ok, I will stand corrected on the sensor issue. But, it measures the % of ethanol in the fuel and recalibrates the engine as needed.............But, as I said earlier, the vehicle has to be running or driven for the computer to take mulitple reading and confirm the results. I took this off a GM forum: GM has developed a Virtual Flex Fuel Sensor (V-FFS) software program that calculates the ethanol content in the fuel, instead of using a sensor to measure it. When the fuel level in the tank increases as the vehicle is refueled, the computer recalculates the percentage of ethanol in the fuel and automatically changes the air/fuel ratio. To do this, the computer temporarily stops the operation of other emission systems and monitors the oxygen sensors to determine ethanol content. The test is done several times until calculations remain stable. This can take several minutes when the engine is idling, but much less time at higher fuel flow rates. So, just filling the tank doesn't tell the computer anything other than the level has been changed. And the sensor has a high failure rate with a even higher replacement cost price tag attached (@ $600 from GM) Bottom line..............................If you think you are happy with it, it don't matter. Flex fuel is just another smoke n mirror leg of the "CHANGE" we were all promised. Fact is it costs more to process the same amount of ethanol fuel compared to petroleum based fuel, just cheaper to grow corn then extract the crued. Typical, pay more to get less.................................. FDXX75
  6. Dang WNYBuckHunter, you done gone and got somebodies knickers in a knot...................................LOL. FDXX75
  7. First off, you will be hard pressed to find any decent handgun these days for $300.00. Double that and you might find a good used one or a low end new one.....................take a look around, the cost of guns, ammo and anything firearm related is off the page. The last caliber I would consider for that line of work would be a 9mm, horrible performance track record. I have the mentality that your gun should be able to save your life, not have you fighting to save your life, and most likely if involved in a fire fight, you will be out numbered and under gunned. So, always start out with the best possible weapon you can, your life may just depend on it. I would suggest picking at least 2-3 calibers, the same in manufacturers and start doing some review searches, then go put one in your hand....................no sense in buying a great gun that feels uncomfortable in your hand and you don't shoot it well. 9. Yeah, we discussed that. I believe he did add the burlap afterwards. He said the tarp material helped keep the majority of the wind out and the heat in. FDXX75
  10. I am not 100% sure, but I think this is a Rage 2 blade....................but none the less. It left an incredible entry wound and one heck of a blood trail. This was a pic of my neighbors deer last season. FDXX75
  11. Anybody know exactly what proposals DEC is looking at with the crossbow changes?? I heard it was going to be specific area's for specific big game animals, but in restricted areas????? Like Ferrell hogs in the counties that border PA. FDXX75
  12. A friend of mine sent me some pics of a simple/inexpensive way to build some shooting house/ground blinds He works for a concrete contractor so some of the materials he gets for free, but they are all avail. at a local lumber yard. As you can see he used a section concrete re-enforcement wire(main blind shape), a brown poly tarp(side wall covering), some household pipe insulation(window trim), and two sections of 2" foam foundation insulation(roof), bag of nylon cable ties(to attach everything together) He states he puts a small "buddy" heater in them on really cold days and it is very comfortable for all day sitting. 13. LMAO, I liked cwhite....................just 6 random letters he put together, signature Cory White. AND The gay trekky code name ...........................................priceless. Aaaaaaaaand, PYGMY, I didn't know they (pygmies) grew as short as 5'5". j/k. Some interested names FDXX75
  14. OOOPS, Sorry guys, I joined after that and must of missed the thread. I was wondering why so many views and so few reply posts...........................LOL I will go look up the other thread. Apologize if I wasted any of your time. FDXX75
  15. Yeah, but you are still 110% correct................... FDXX75 Oh, wait.................it might have been a Smart Car that uses flex fuel. LOL

  17. It gets the most attention because most people have never seen a real fawn other than pictures or on a Christmas card, even though it is no longer breathing it is so lifelike. They can actually look up close and see things they never saw or knew before. This one was still young enough its hooves have not yet turned black, they are a cream/tan color. Even the anti's like it............................LOL FDXX75
  18. Honda wrote the book on them, they are the best machine reliability, longevity and easiest to work on by far. Yamaha would by my second choice. I will refain from voicing my opinioin on the other brands FDXX75
  19. I just came in after 2 hrs. of shoveling, we got hammered with @ 13" of sleet, ice & snow mix from 4 pm yesterday until 11am this morning. This crap is little shoveling oatmeal.................................it was in the 50's to previous two days so the lawn and driveway are like pudding underneath this crap. Now, it is 38 degs and everything is turning to muck. Man I hate these late season storms. FDXX75
  20. Yeah, but the poll is working............................... LOL FDXX75
  21. wow really! I will have to look into it for the wife and her Suburban. Does it worsen the milage by alot? I worked it out. If the flex fuel is .25 cents cheaper it's a wash between less milage and price. Anything over .25 cents it's worth it. I do see less miles per gallon in the Tahoe. At .80 cents cheaper it's a no-brainer. I am gonna have to disagree with the math here..............................It is a known fact that it takes @ 40% more flex fuel to generate the same results as regular fuel. So let say a gal. of reg. fuel is $3.80 per gal, Flex fuel is $3.00 per gal...........................flex fuel 1.4 gals = 1 gal. reg fuel......................1.4 x $3.00 = $4.20 to accomplish the same result. You would need to be able to buy flex fuel for $2.28 per gal. just to break even with reg. fuel prices. I have yet to find a single car, truck, or any vehicle for that matter that has shown a positive gain by running flex fuel. It just isn't in the cards.................... FDXX75 I get about 3 miles less per gallon with the flex fuel. Do all the math you want but for it's a win for me. If I fuel up my truck and leave for camp it's 325 miles. If I do the speed limit I end up with a little under a quarter tank. Flex fuel I end up under an 8th. It's nice that the fueling system knows that your putting in E85 and adjusts your distance you can drive. So it takes you 9 tanks of flex fuel to do the same as 8 tanks of reg. gas????? Hmmmmmm, yep sounds like a winner to me. LOL FDXX75
  22. Geno, your stats are not relative to the average driver..........................I will bet not one single member on this site including me has ever paid $13.00 for a gallon of gas and I ran race fuel for yr. in my bikes during the race yrs. The average guy, with todays posted prices will not benifit by buying flex fuel...........................................all it is doing is raising the price of corn on the other end. There is no winning this fuel cost battle, the general public is slowly being crippled economically every day........................................The downward spiral has already started and the crash is near. FDXX75
  23. I viewed a video last week about an engineer who by accident figured out he could get sea water to burn and generate enough heat to power a steam engine............by subjecting the water to radio waves. Yep, he did it, made water burn. Problem is................it took more electricity to produce the radio waves than the heat generated by the burning water. Great tech., poor cost efficiency.........................That is the problem with most of todays high tech. solutions, the cost to make it happen far out weighs the result and the fact that all the big oil companies and affiliates don't want to see that progress happen.
