When they are just a tad older I'd like to hit up chestnut ridge. I went to the ridge as a kid and that was a blast. We would pack a cooler of lunches and enjoy it inside the community building there. I remember warming up to the wood fire. If I recall it was free not sure if it still is.

Tonight is a night I'll never forget. I have been hunting quite a bit with my 4 yr old son this year from a elevated blind. We have had a great year and usually see deer every sit. Tonight 3 deer came in very skittish and ran off three different times. As I saw them I initially put the ear muffs on my son. Taking the shot took a good 15 -20 minutes as they were appearing and disappearing. Finally I squeeze the trigger and see the doe run off. I look to see my sons reaction , as I have waited for this day for years.... Hes legit asleep! I woke him up and he tracked the doe and was all smiles. What a fun day. 154 yards- my farthest with a muzzleloader

Evening sit for hunting partner and I. We passed on a button buck at 2:30 60 yds away. That was all we saw. On way home farm fields were full of deer after dusk.

Power belts can be a bitch. I had issues with them seating and also the bullet retention was awful. I switched to barnes like many on here and never looked back.
