Our soldiers are Losers
Shoots100 replied to Chef's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
The typical smart ass liberal response when their faced with the truth. The truth to a liberal, is like a cross being held in front of Dracula. Now I expect another topic change because your points on the last 5 topic changes have been milked dry years ago, yet you are blind to that. Maybe we can get back to Trump being a Russian spy, the Mueller report was fake and they were almost right there in finding the proof they needed to prove it, but they needed another $100 million tax payer dollars to keep the liberal slush funds full, So Nancy can have her Ice cream and eat it too ? The Covid blame game is going nowhere and even the libs in the city are up to their necks with the idiots Cuomo and Wilhelm Deblasio screwing up their lives because of their liberal ego's getting in the way of rational thinking. Mitt Romney is a typical wind sock politician and you have a better chance at picking the winning lottery numbers, than knowing how he's going to vote. -

Phantom is really Kamala Harris. Biden doesn't have a snowballs chance, but the media still promotes him, as they feel it's nice to give the demented a reason to live. Even if they prop up Ol' Joe and pump him full of drugs , the Dem powers that be know he won't last the whole debate on the 29th, and because of that, I'm sure there's going to be some kind of last minute "Emergency" to keep JB from attending the debate. I really find it disgusting that the Dems have no issue with putting him on the world stage in his condition. They had plenty of other viable candidates to choose from. -
17 days till the opener, so maybe you should take a couple of shots at night to make sure everything is working correctly ?

Chef, Glad your OK and it's good to know that your safety harness works when needed. I've never used or seen a hawk stand, but they look nice and reviewers seem to like them. G-Man- Ladder stands aren't meant to be left out in the weather all year long for years on end, without proper maintenance or protective measures. With proper maintenance and/or protective measures, a ladder stand should last a lifetime and many of mine are over 20 years old now.

I think my old 4x photon scope would melt if I used it with the cannon ! It looks like you've got your rig all set up and ready to rock. Any actual night shooting done with it yet ? I'm also waiting for Oct to roll around and haven't had any nusience calls to take care of lately, so I spend my nights roaming around the neighborhood on my mountain bike with NVG's scaring the crap out of deer.
-
Digex sight in Here you go. Make sure you use a fully charged battery when sighting it in. Let us know how you like the scope. SJC
-
Congrats on the new scope. Teamed up with the .204, you should do well this year. Get some extra batteries or an external power pak, as the batteries don't last as long as pulsar says they do and it would suck to have it die before you get to make something else die. SJC

I used to sit for hours shooting chucks all weekend after cutting the hay at my relatives farm. Now I sit for hours in a lazy boy, after taking some aspirin and nursing a cold beer or two. .22 hornet was my caliber of choice, then I moved up to a heavy barreled 6mm rem 40XC to make the longer shots. Now I just carry my 44 mag revolver and let one or two shot's fly, if I see one running around. They have a better chance of getting hit by lightning, than getting hit by one of my shots, but it breaks the monotony of sitting on the tractor for hours. Keep slinging lead boy's, as someone has to show them who's boss. SJC

I'm sending my prayers to you and your family Grampy, as your brother Mark is in the lords care now, but you need prayers to help you carry on. RIP Mark.

I'd respect you more if you'd just come out of the closet chef. While I find some of your reply's amusing, others I find lean more to the left than some of my unstable liberal friends and neighbors. Free speech includes quoting others and if you can't accept that, that's a form of racism + bigotry from your end. It's also the classic liberal response to the questioning of their views. I get it that you don't like Trump, but your vitriol should be directed towards your Democratic party, after they selected Joe Biden as your Presidential candidate. Not that any of the other Democratic candidates were any better, but that move makes anything that Trump does look minuscule and is almost 100% guaranteeing his Reelection. Maybe your just unhappy that Hillary didn't run for president again ? SJC

Trump is going to trounce Biden into the ground, So why bring up this BS "What if" scenario again and again ? What If aliens land here in November and take over the planet before the election, will trump refuse to leave office ? That 'What if" has more of a chance of happening than Biden winning. The leftists are the only ones that contest election's when they lose and have actually changed laws to give them more terms in office. You claim to be a republican , yet spew out liberal talking points and change the topic when challenged, like a seasoned liberal. Is your last name Bloomberg ? Calls himself a republican, yet bleeds blue ?
-
Not the whole US, Just the liberal run cities and states, but why nit pic. Health care ? America could be burning worse than it is now and there would be a line at the airport of people trying to get in for a doctors visit. 3/4 of the people coming in from Canada, are coming for health care, because their health care system sucks. The black market pharma up there is booming, as it sucks waiting months to get a free prescription. Do you ever hear of anyone saying, I need to have heart surgery, lets call a doctor in Zimbabwe ? Thank your liberal leaders for the spread of covid, as Cuomo and Wilhelmina Diblasio have blood on their hands because of their political blindness. Don't just look at the stats, learn from the stats and see that people will take the chance of dying to come into the land of the free and home of the brave. SJC

You've seen my mother in law in a bikini ?

Chef, after eight years of a smooth talking shyster president that kids loved, but that did nothing but lie and drive the country over a cliff in every aspect, I'll take a president that has done what he said he would do and stands up to the leftists, no matter what he sends out on twitter. You mean the same kids that look up to the holier than thou actors and sports personalities that are killing people, beating their wives and taking a knee during the Pledge of allegiance ? You mean those traits ? Trump's tweets are harmless compared to some of the filth that's put out there and being from NY, you should know that the Donald is five steps ahead of the liberals and isn't going to back down from a fight. It's free advertising, as after he tweets, is the media talking about anyone else but Trump all day ? The drive by media isn't going to put out anything good about the president anyway, so it's good to control their narrative and be on the offensive, not defense, Get it ? He's exactly what we needed and do need to get rid of the liberal horde that's fighting for it's life right now. It's ok to have an opposing view, but calling someone you don't know "not a very bright person", isn't very bright. I respectfully disagree with your stance on the president, but do respect your right of free speech. SJC

So if the mob comes to your street or town, what do yo do?

It's a small world, so if you hear some very loud gunfire coming from the south, you'll know who's having some fun ! -

Blauvelt now, but my dad moved us up to Nanuet in 69, after the NYPD let it's officers live outside of the city limits. My grandfather lived in Pearl River since the mid 50's and we always joked how it's called the town of friendly people, as long as your a cop, fireman or con ed ! Rockland is a target for that reason, but it's also a very well armed populous, with very well funded PD's and Sheriff dept. -
Bolt Action with Pistol Grip
Shoots100 replied to Alfredo's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
First off, most rifles that come with pistol gripped stocks and detachable mags are made for tactical match shooting. The rifles usually have very heavy stocks, long heavy barrels and aren't really suited for deer hunting, unless you plan to sit in a stand overlooking big fields that offer long range shot opportunities. If your going to be carrying the rifle around, hunting in the woods and/or doing deer drives, a standard wood or synthetic stocked rifle would be a better choice. Many have detachable magazines. A short action .308 chambered rifle with a detachable magazine would be my recommendation. SJC- 21 replies

So if the mob comes to your street or town, what do yo do?
Shoots100 replied to ApexerER's topic in General Chit Chat
I'm just NW of the city across the Hudson, blue collar LEO family towns, so I'm praying for the looters to be smart and not come up here to loot or cause mayhem. I not looking for a fight, but the criminals should be well aware by now that their actions aren't going to be tolerated outside of the city. I'm really more worried about one of the thousands of untrained yo yo's that have bought a firearm in the last few months shooting themselves in the foot or someone else unintentionally, than being attacked by a mob. I've been working in NYC and NJ Hospitals for almost 30 years. Covid19 has been the most devastating virus I've had to deal with. In the past my family has been lucky , but this time it hit home and my 86 year old uncle and 65 year old cousin died. Covid is nothing to mess around with, but states need to get back to work in a safe and feasible manner. Also, I don't want to hear "the new normal" one more time either ! If past generations gave in to the "new normal" way of thought, we'd be speaking German or Japanese. Town Populace and Covid case numbers should determine what safety practices should be undertaken, not just a blanket approach. Rant over. SJC

Trump Stupidity
Shoots100 replied to Rattler's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Obama's teleprompter and BJ Clinton lied out of their backsides, but spoke candidly and with class I'm told, and look what good that did for America. America needed leadership, not another classy apologist. You take the good with the bad, and hope the good outweighs the bad. SJC -
Trump Stupidity
Shoots100 replied to Rattler's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
My Grandpa used to say that you judge a man by his actions, not his words, as actions speak louder than words. Trump does so much behind the scenes, but because of the liberal bias media, it never gets out there and (believe it or not) Trump doesn't mention them, because he's not a politician. That's the main reason I voted for him. He's from outside the beltway and that scares the swamp rats, which amuses me. They've thrown everything at him and he comes out smiling. I think anyone ( I'm biased being a 5th generation NY'er) except a NY'er would've folded under the pressure by now, but Trump seems to thrive on it and even stirs the pot with his twitter posts. He posts controversial stuff, as it keeps him in the spotlight and that's where he likes to be. It doesn't cost him a cent either. Never Forget and Never Surrender, SJC -
2 things I haven't seen in a while And was unexpected
Shoots100 replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in General Chit Chat
Back then we were free men and woman and guns weren't considered evil, just tools. We didn't lock our doors, or need car alarms. With the liberal pussy's running the state now, a Dildo rack is the latest craze. SJC -

AR 10 Bolt Catch won't catch BCG
Shoots100 replied to ApexerER's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Most rifle buffers on the AR-10 are shorter and heavier than the AR-15 to accommodate the longer .308 bolt carrier group and the force from a larger round. This means they cannot be interchanged. However, the buffer tubes are the same length, making them compatible with either rifle. It should be noted that the buffer tube for the Armalite style AR-10 collapsible stock carbine features a unique length and only works with this model. -
