NY state doesn't have the resources or desire to go after baiting/poachers. Besides do you really want armys of DEC officers in the woods looking for bait piles while your sitting in a stand hunting legally. You'd need just that, an army.

This is part of the problem in this country. People listening to Joe Rogan, instead of science,Holy sh*t folks. -

They are great but if your pushing thru trails with saplings and briars you have to drive thru it before you chop it. The pull behinds are great for overgrown roadsides when you can offset the implement into the rough and drive on gravel -

Untrue. Our older population who are to ignorant to get vaccinated have a much higher death rate. Your rate of 99% is for overall population. But again, that's survival rate and doesn't go into long term effects and long term hospitalizations of people much younger. You'll understand my point when you or a loved ones emergency care is compromised by old fat people filling up emergency rooms. It's already happening. -

I really have no problem with people refusing the vaccine until hospital emergency rooms become overrun with Covid patients like in several southern states. Actually I've always been a fan of Darwin's theory of natural selection and this virus has proven to be a great example of that and the benefits it provides. -

But I'm sure your fine with the Harvard Drs opinion on immunity. You can search and select the sources that will give you the answers you prefer. The CDC is a legitimate source who's analysis compares to any other scientific studies done so far. -

I have enough ammo to last me a lifetime and don't plan on buying at these inflated prices, till prices come down I'll just shoot less.

That's one single scientists opinion, doesn't matter if he's from Harvard. The overwhelming evidence shows beyond a doubt vax immunity to be stronger and last longer. -

Have any of you anti vaxxers ever spoken to your Doctors about what to do. If your Doc recommends a new treatment for cholesterol or blood pressure reduction do you tell him "hell no"? I really have to wonder on where you guys draw the line on what your doctor orders. I'm sure I'll now get a slurry of replies from anti vaxxers and how their Docs are recommending they don't take the vaccine from the fantasy land medical community that anti vaxxers seem to prescribe to -
Good point. When go out to hunt, I go out to hunt not to turn in bad guys. I mind my business and enjoy my time in the woods

I'm going to do a permanent mount on my small Kubota. Just strapped it on for a test run -

There OK but will only cut to a 3/8 sapling at best. You'll be changing strings. I recently bought a used Swisher ruff cut walk behind with a 11 HP Briggs. The thing is beastly and if you can bend it over it will chop it. They are pricey but used deals pop up -
It does, no need for 100grns even. With 75 I'm grouping constantly 2-3 in at 100yds. I've taken several deer with that load at 50 to 60yd and seems sufficient. If I were taking shots 100yds plus I might use a larger load.

I suppose. But showing the DEC a belly full of apples isn't something they seem to get too excited about

Smoke poles are a ton of fun.

Is this new to muzzleloader season?
Gobbler Chaser replied to Gobbler Chaser's topic in Deer Hunting
I'm liking it, thanks -
Is this something new to muzzleloader season, Dec 26 to Jan 1st? Unless I've been sleeping at the wheel I don't recall this.

95 grns is alot of moo moo. I'm using 75 with Hornady SST.

I measure my BH209 on my powder scale and pour the loads into little tiny plastic containers, that's probably more accurate than the white tabs. Not a big deal because i don't shoot a muzzleloader as much as my rifles at a session on the bench. Might do 8 or 10 shoots on average with mine which is pretty well sighted in already.

I stopped shooting for a month. Close to hunting season but it was worth it. Played around with poundage and dropped to 63 from 70. When I started again was like I never had it. Still not sure if it was phycological or not.

Guys still tossing those meat cleavers at deer. I switched to mechanicals going on 25 yrs ago and haven't looked back. Remember Puckets blood trailers, believe they were the very first, wanna say 1994

Baiting is as common as deer poop in my part of Ulster. The guy at our local tractor supply says he can't keep corn on the shelves when hunting starts.
