  1. I've seen that on the east end. One in the front bucket seats of a TransAm once. Sucks
  2. The Ameristep is better quality. Fabric and zippers just seem better.
  3. 10 Days in Greece, Awesome. That's on my bucket list.
  4. Desortos is the place. There's one other....yourself. You'll do a butcher job on the first but by the second you'll be moving along. Isn't hard to do. Lots of You Tube info
  5. Yes, and this is something neither you or I will be able to control in the future. These things will be decided by a younger generation just like when the new generation of hunter in 1980s demanded compound bows be brought into archery. But for the interim even if crossbows go full inclusion I don't think we'll be seeing major changes in regs in our time. Air bows, magnetic rail bows will come but we won't be concerning ourselves when it does
  6. I think it was a legitimate question. Because it seems the majority of antis who claim to know everything about the ease of hunting with a crossbow have never even sat in the stand with one or encounter live game with one. And I do understand anti CBers fears of where the technology ends and the truth is it will probably not. Public sentiment will keep it regulated but those regulations will erode over time regardless as the people/majority call for it. When will the technology on vertical bows end. You never hear much about that with the anti crowd. I can hold my vertical bow with 80% letoff longer than I could hold any bow I owned 20 years ago and Im 65 now
  7. Almost all Xbow hunters started out or are also vertical bowhunters such as myself and have seen both types of hunting. Most die hard VB hunters have never spent any time in a stand with a CB so they speak without experience. They just have this imaginary picture in their minds that they base their decisions on. I've heard some of the most ridiculous assumptions made by the anti CB crowd as to effective range, accuracy etc.
  8. I've seen guys shooting dirty hot ML barrels and setting their crosshairs to that at the range, just to be surprised at the next range visit with that first shot thru a clean cool barrel landing on a different spot on paper. The shot you take at a deer will be with clean cool barrel, just something to remember. I leave my smokeless center fire rifle barrels uncleaned for the season because that where they were when sighting in. But you can't leave a ML uncleaned for any period of time.
  9. Nextel Cup, lol! Didn't know that. Didn't realize they had anything but US cars either. I stopped watching back in the 90s.
  10. Didn't they remove cigarette ads in like the 70s?
  11. I heard that's where they raise the Alpacas for trumps head
  12. I've never seen it offered here by me locally and have been looking for less expensive options other than dirty Russian steel but will keep an eye out for it.
  13. Problem is it's not dead. The argument is alive as ever. Wish it would be dead
  14. As Puddy on Seinfeld used to say "Yea that's right".....comic relief, lol
  15. I actually mark trees surrounding my treestands. I use light yellow paint. Just a spot on a couple at 20, then red at 30
  16. In the last 20 yrs there have certainly been advances in speed and letoff. Back in the late 90s bows I owned were 50 60% letoff. Shooting 300fps was only accomplished with 70 lb bows shooting dangerously light arrows. I'm twenty yrs older at 65 and can hold my PSE compound longer than my Matthews Solo cam of early 2000s
  17. Yea the CB vs VB war in NY has been a long bloody one that hurts everyone involved and causes division. Many in our ranks expect you to walk lock step on every single issue with them, and I you don't on one single issue your attacked, which pushes people away in general. But I agree, the CB vs VB issue is definitely in need of some comic relief
  18. 20 Yrs from now xbow technology will be where regulation keeps them. Draw Weight, width, etc. You could use the same argument on what advances we'll see in Verts in 20 years also. After all look what the last 20 has brought with Verts. Today with NYs regs the one advantage I see CBs having is not having to draw in the presence of game. That's about it. That can even be argued when someone is in an elevated blind where deer can't see you draw.
  19. Oh I apologize. I thought you were serious and going to lead into the huge differences in CB and VB. LMFAO!!
  20. Another great option is keep a few pieces of split firewood around your feet. I use 3 pieces. Put my foot up on wood and rest my elbow on my knee for a super secure steady rest. Shooting sticks are another item that has to be grabbed at that important moment and shifted into position possible making noise or causing other fumblef*ckery
  21. Exactly what I said, there's a big difference between a MZ and a CB
  22. Big difference between a MZ and a CB.
