  1. Most likely we won't have to face that problem until 2024. I still say he doesn't have a chance in a national race. I don't think he would win the Dem primary. In the end, there are a ton of Democrats that like guns and are Dems for other reasons.
  2. Simply not true. Cuomo makes Obama look middle of the road moderate. Also Obama had the added boost of being relatively unknown at the national level before running for President, and relatively new to politics in general. It is a bonus when your opponents don't have years and years of history to dig up dirt and scrutinize every vote you cast in office.
  3. I know it's not what you want to hear, but I'll give you my predictions: He is going to win the Gov race again this year by at least 53/45 (as opposed to 2010 when it was 61/34). He will not run for pres in 2016 if Hillary runs. He won't win a primary against her and it would just be a waste of money trying. He will bide his time and run in 2020 if she loses, or 2024 if she wins. Or possibly take a VP spot under her if she offers it to pave the way.
  4. I went with a 4 arrow quiver because I didn't want the extra weight of a 6 arrow. I plan on taking 3 broad heads and a blunt arrow in case I need to discourage a squirrel or chipmunk from torturing me. Last year I had a chipmunk stand below me and bark for 40 minutes straight...never again...never again!
  5. An easy way to tell if you are getting a 2013 or a 2014 quiver: The 2013s are all 5 arrow quivers, the 2014s are either 4 or 6 arrows.
  6. They aren't out yet. The ones you can buy on the Elite site are the 2013 quivers. From what my dealer told me (I placed an order for a 1-piece about two months ago) they have started shipping some of the 2-piece quivers recently, but the 1-piece are still in production and won't be available for another few weeks. I'm dying to get my quiver too...have everything else on my new E32 all ready. Now I just need my shoulder to heal up a bit more so I can start flinging arrows again.
  7. I'll be taking my boys out for at least one day that weekend. This is the first year I get to take them for both turkey and deer (they turn 14 in July).
  8. There is no way Cuomo will run in 2016, unless Clinton decides not to. Even then, I doubt he would get the national nod. His stance on guns is too radical to win a presidential race, imo.
  9. Scary day when I agree wholeheartedly with Sits....
  10. http://longisland.news12.com/news/youssef-abdel-gawad-of-huntington-station-charged-with-manslaughter-for-shooting-alleged-burglar-1.7269293 Thoughts?
  11. Whew - next time, please do. I have heard that same opinion expressed here before by people who were 100% serious.
  12. Please define "so many". How many bow hunters were shot by youth hunters in New York's 2012 and 2013 Youth weekends?
  13. In all seriousness, if NY was ever changed like that, I'd bow hunt in Jersey until gun season and just not buy a NY archery tag. I didn't spend $1600+ on a compound bow setup to use it for two weeks. I doubt I'm the only one that would feel that way.
  14. I don't think you'll find anyone here that disagrees with that last statement (or at least not many, ).
  15. I understand your point of view, and honestly, as far as the bow part, I'm pretty sure it will end up that way soon. As for the ML, never happen, for the sole reason that the DEC would lose money by combining ML into gun season.
  16. I actually wouldn't mind if they designated the first week for longbow/recurve only. I think three or four weeks would be a bit silly since, I would guess, it is a very, very small minority that hunt with a non-compound bows.
  17. Link source, please. I'd like to ready the article.
  18. So they can squeeze another $10 from you.
  19. That would make no sense since you can always hunt "down". Crossbows are a more advanced weapon than a vertical bow. Especially because "vertical bows" include traditionals and recurves.
  20. How does one bring a handgun from upstate to Suffolk county without breaking the law? Ferry?
  21. They could always come to some sort of compromise: Bow season is about 6 weeks long now. Let it be vertical only for the first 3 or 4 weeks, then open it up to x-bows for the rest of the seasons. Both sides should hate that idea, which is usually a good litmus test for something fair.
  22. Most have some sort of mounting bracket that screws to the bow, then a quick release mechanism to attach or remove the quiver as desired.
  23. Doubt this would ever happen due to the loss in revenue it would cause the DEC. With the removal of Sportsman and Super Sportsman licenses, if there are no extra tags people would just buy them as the season progressed and stop after they hit their deer limit. I would imagine there would be a severe drop off in late season tags sold.
