  1. Mathews Genesis also doesn't have a set draw length.
  2. Since it's so easy to fact check anything you say these days, I'm glad to know you just talk out of your ass whenever you feel like it. And if you are equating using a vertical bow release to a crossbow that can be cocked hours before the shot, and has a scope and a trigger, you should share whatever you're smoking.
  3. No, you said "most primitive form of weaponry", which is what made the statement foolish. Crossbows were around way before the middle ages (~401-1500 CE). Crossbow evidence has been found in Europe and China as far back as ~500-600 BCE (possibly earlier). The Bronze Age and most of the Iron Age (to name a couple) happened before crossbows, however, so there are plenty weapons created after "cave men" but before the crossbow. History! Yeah! P.S. - What is a trigger lock for a compound bow? Are you talking about a release? Because is you are trying to equate holding a vertical bow at full draw with a mechanical release to aiming cocked crossbow and pulling the trigger, I can get into the foolishness of that too.
  4. I think a lot of people in this thread need to be introduced to Nuts&Bolts.
  5. I like the concept, I do not like the way it is implemented by that company. I find this troubling: "Smart System can be linked computer technology enabling a complete tracking and monitoring of the gun." (Hello, NSA) Plus RFID signals can be jammed.
  6. I got a bird in Stewart State Forest, 3M, a couple of years ago. If possible, I would suggest trying to go during the week. It can get awful crowded with some real jackasses on the weekend. I have had a hunter walk by my set up as I'm trying to bring a gobbler out of one of the swampy areas only to then circle back and enter the swamp 30 yards from me to try to intercept the bird that's gobbling. I have never wanted to fire a shot over someones head more than that moment (I managed to restrain my urge).

    Bow tests

You'd probably have more luck asking on AT.
  8. I was very happy with the results of Sunday. I arrived at my friends house late, so the rain delay had already started. I enjoyed all the food, beer and scotch I could consume, then left before the race started up again. Best NASCAR race ever!
  9. Great advise there. And to add a personal recommendation, try out some Elite bows before deciding on what to buy, especially since you can get some of the 2013 bows at a good price now.
  10. I could care less about the actual race, but I have a couple of good friends that are into it. One of them is having a small get-together for the race. I can't pass up the chili, wings, beer and whiskey.
  11. Pretty sure it's Treelimb, at least they made the 2012-2013 version. Tightspot makes great quivers too though.
  12. What Elite bow are you buying? I got an E 32 at Christmas time and I love it. I'm going with the Elite quiver when it comes out later this month. It's overpriced and I am buying it purely for the looks, but, it is also a well made quiver (I went with the 4 arrow 1 piece since I don't plan to shoot with it on).
  13. I know its a little off topic, but you might want to try shooting the Elite 35 and 32 also. The 32 is a great hunting bow.
  14. I have a 2013 tek hybrid 3 pin on my new bow. I like it, but I wish it was the 2014. As noted above, the pins on the 2014 are a little brighter.
  15. Should be legal for the same reason the Ruger Mini 14 Ranch is still legal, no pistol grip. Because everyone knows, the difference between a legal firearm and a terrorist's weapon of destruction is the grip.
  16. I would suggest a 7mm 08 or a 308 using: http://www.hornady.com/store/308-Win-125-gr-SST-Custom-Lite/ I bought my 13 year old sons a 308 with that custom lite ammo and they have no problems with it. I figure as they grow, we can switch it out for a hotter load.
  17. Lesson #1, wait more than 15 minutes if your shot was poorly placed.
  18. Most likely, the cost of retooling their machines isn't worth it for sales to just one state.
  19. There is no micro-stamping on revolvers, for that reason. Only semi-autos. Revolvers will still be sold there by Ruger and S&W. Also this law was passed back in 2007, though it is now being enforced.
  20. BOSE makes 3 different model Bluetooth speakers. The middle version isn't that expensive and sounds good.
  21. Well, for most of the past 100 years, I have to admit, I wasn't around much.
  22. A football field is 360 feet long. The field of play is 300 feet, plus 2 30 foot end zones. I like the proposed change. It may open up some suburban areas that are now using tax payer money to deal with their deer problems.
  23. Think about it Bubba, it will come to you eventually.
  24. You know plenty of people who change their views over a 350 foot difference? That is less than a football field in length. You know a lot more temperamental people than I do.
