    First shot of the day in Naples: 6:59. Volley of 4. Calm walk in. The leaves are drying out, so it was a little bit noisy.

    Yeah, it was a nice gun, but just wasn't for me after all. Sold it already. I'm back to this, & plan on staying this way.

    Supposedly not. I've got a small green flashlight, I sometimes use to go in. One of the selling points was that it was "invisible" to deer. Who knows how they figured that one out.

    Pretty windy in Naples this morning. Out of the West. That, with the damp leaves, made for a silent walk in. Sitting in the spot where my Grandfather killed his last deer, 20 years ago.

    8N is overrun, my a$$. At least not my piece of it. Trail cams don't lie. I'm looking for 1 doe, down here, then DEC can stuff all these DMP'S where the sun don't shine.

    I just almost double loaded my ML. Thank God I caught it at the last second. Let's see, I would've been shooting a combined 180gr of 777, & 2 385gr conicals. Feeling pretty stupid. Good luck everyone!

    Nice job! Do they fight well? What do you get them on? Looks like a cool fish. How do you cook them? I love pickled herring, but I'm guessing that's not what you'll do with them.

    Really well put, Mike. Seeing those baggies makes me anxious to get back out squirrel hunting, as soon as deer season ends. I don't have any left in the freezer. Hoping to get a few ziplocks full, to grill this summer.

    I like the Avian X Lookout. It's a few inches taller than the feeder or breeder. I think it's more visible in the woods. Expensive deke, but I love mine. The turkeys were totally fooled by her this season.

    I'm not an aggressive caller at all. I'll bleat or grunt at a distant buck sometimes, but I don't blind call often. I've never rattled. I'm sure it works, I just can't bring myself to make that much noise in the woods. The bleat has worked for me a time or two, but I've also had it spook them, same thing with grunting.

    Congrats on the kill! Good job trying to find the 2nd. Hindsight is 20/20, & now you know for next time, but don't beat yourself up too much. Don't let it take away from the fact that you got your first deer!

    Hunting in Churchville (8G), this morning. She came in with a huge doe, but they knew something was wrong, & they were really alert. They were about to bolt, so I took the first chance I had. 15yards. Thankful to have her.
