  1. Hunting in 8G today. Saw a small 6 before sunrise, & a doe fawn being tailed by a buck, about 30 minutes ago. They never got into the open, so I didn't get a good look at the buck. Tons of squirrels out this morning.
  2. Ok, Doc. I guess it's ok when certain members bash on others. However, as soon as that person themselves becomes the target, it's unacceptable. Nothing fun about it. It's about calling someone who is full of bs. I certainly don't want to be associated, or friendly, with someone who treats their neighbors, & supposed fellow hunters, as the OP clearly does. Where is your camaraderie in the case described above?
  3. Eddie, the fact that no one can understand anything she says is just a bonus. Even when we can follow her line of thought, she usually posts things that many find to be disagreeable, & arrogant. So now we shouldn't comment when we don't like what someone posts? Why? If we did that, there would be very little action on this site.
  4. Trust me, I'm not threatened at all by female hunters. I live with one who is far more skilled and successful than you & I put together, growie.
  5. Yeah, & a unicorn was jousting with the block in her backyard.
  6. The fact that you misspelled the word IDIOCY, is beautiful. I'd really love to hear this story from the other guy's perspective. Hard to tell what's really going on from the mutilation of the English language, that you are trying to pass as a post. I'd sure love to be your neighbor. Pretty sure we're about a mile from eachother, but that's much too close. I used to think it was the wind in the trees making that "biiiiiiitch, creaaaaak, whiiiiiiine" noise, that I always hear over the back of the hill. Now I know different. Sounds like maybe your blind is directly on the property line. That's always a classy move. Is it facing their land, too? You have plenty of property, so why do you need to set up so close to the line? Can't stand the thought of someone else succeeding, or do you just get pleasure out of screwing someone over, who has no recourse? You're fortunate to own a decent sized piece, so why do you feel it necessary to mock someone who can only afford that "dot on the map"? You don't know their situation. Maybe they didn't marry as well as you. I'm sure they would probably sell, but I'm sure property next to yours would be tough to GIVE away. Even if they really are bad neighbors, so what? Just don't set up near the line, problem solved. No though, you love the drama & conflict. Deliberately doing stuff to keep deer from using their land? Because? They don't follow your rules? You should be ashamed of yourself, but instead, you're proud of your behavior.

Wow. At 1am, I was debating between murdering the guy snoring on the next couch over, or stuffing yesterday's boxers in his mouth.

Let's shelve this crap for now. It's opening day & I'm going hunting. Just for today, I don't want to think about how messed up everything is. Today is opening freaking day!

What's funny is that relocation would be a huge burden on the taxpayer. Shooting them is definitely the answer, but you are correct in that politics often stand in the way.
  12. $14 Salad? DAAAAAAMMMMNN. It better be served with Miranda Lambert wearing it as a bikini.

What doesn't matter? Not following you.
  14. My taxidermist gf has had several deer come in over the years that were previously shot in the face / jaw & had somehow survived for awhile with horrible injuries. 2 years ago, a guy brought in a deer his daughter had killed & someone had previously shot it in the upper jaw. The roof of the mouth and upper teeth were gone & the resulting cavity was packed with rotting food. Somehow, the deer had managed to eat again, & from the outside, you wouldn't know the mess that was in there. It didn't even look shot, because the hole had somewhat closed up & looked like just a bad fight wound. His life must have been constant agony though. I hope it was an accident & not someone trying to head shoot him.
  15. I wouldn't intentionally shoulder shoot a deer, unless I needed to try and anchor it right on the spot. Maybe if you were hunting really close to other guys who you were afraid would take your deer. Otherwise, lung them and let them run a little ways & fall over. No meat damage.

On a completely unrelated note, I KNEW I'd seen you somewhere! LoL.

Too bad I sobered up, cuz I'd buy a couple ounces of whatever smack you're on. Capture & relocate, LoL.
  18. Good post. When (I don't really think it's a matter of IF) DEC puts muzzleloaders in archery, it's over for me. Even if it's an antlerless only season, or only for the first two weeks, I think it'll effectively ruin bow season. You rarely see deer acting normally during gun season, they're usually really paranoid & often the only reason you see them is that someone else bumped them. Gun hunting, by nature, is more disruptive. More hunters, more noise, more scent in the woods, different tactics, etc. It would suck to have gun hunters out there doing drives on the next property over, while you're bowhunting. I'm not saying it wouldn't bump deer by you occassionally, but I think the vast majority of archery deer are taken while the deer are behaving normally. Shooting at a driven deer as it sneaks by at 50 yards, isn't an option for archery hunting. Say it was only during the antlerless part of archery, OK, well now it's still going to take 2 weeks after that for the deer to return to normal behavior. Just in time for gun season! When the guns get involved in archery season, why even call it archery season? Just make it deer season. It'll be no different than it is now. You're welcome to take your bow out during gun season. I'm 100% for crossbows in all of archery season. Add guns, & why even bother with the crossbow? Don't get me wrong. I love gun hunting! I just don't think that archery hunters (bow or Xbow) can share a season with a gun hunter, & still expect to have realistic chances of success. NYantler put it perfectly, that we should have a season for silent weapons, & one for guns. I agree. It's clear and simple. But I'm sure someone would then say we should allow suppressed guns into the silent season. There's no end.
  19. I know, right?!! You should see the other guy though.
  20. There was a falconer on here who mentioned that. I think his name was Chenango Dave. Haven't seen him lately, but IIRC he said that training a bird for use in falconry will greatly increase their survival chances later in life. I think he let his go at the end of every season.
  21. & show solidarity with my hardened criminal / poacher friends.
