  1. When I was a kid, there was a guy near Rochester that I took an animal to. I don't know why, maybe he blew me off because I was young, but it took him 6 years to do it. Constantly bugging him. He had another animal of mine, and threw the cape away without talking to me, said that it was messed up. I was lucky to get the skull back, and it had been partially crushed. No apology, no explanation, just a "Too bad" attitude.
  2. There's gotta be something you can do up there in the summer. How about a fishing trip? Just so your ticket isn't wasted.
  3. Way to help a brother out, guys. Nice to see.
  4. In that day, the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them.
  5. Leaving tomorrow. Armed all of my broadheads the other day. Picking up my son after work and heading out.
  6. Good. No recidivism for that idiot. Save a few tax dollars.
  7. Very nice animals. The article is obvioulsy slanted towards the antis. Like Trump Jr said, if it were not for the money generated by hunting, africa's game would be gone. The people over there realize that big game safaris pays out, and are a lot less likely to poach.
  8. Welcome. I'm your neighbor, I live in Irondequoit.
  9. Absolutely. Uncle Ted could represent me any day.
  10. Sorry to hear that. Will he hold your spot and price till next winter?
  11. Congrats. You've got a lot of sleepless nights ahead of you!
  12. Can't wait. Going to Naples creek, near camp. Gotta be there at 0300 to get my hole locked in, but it's worth it. Last yr, I fished that hole for 4 hours without a fish. Guy next to me made 3 casts into it, and lands a 6 pounder, but that's the way it goes.
  13. I'm leaving Wednesday. Looking forward to it.
  14. Let's agree to disagree. I don't feel that a fence automatically disqualifies a hunt from being real, obviously there are operations that stray far from hunting, but there are a lot of good ones too. You feel differently, I'm good with it.
  15. No offense taken, sorry if I came off as rude. They've already tried internet hunting, it's been banned. No sense in hunting a non - native species? So what about ringneck pheasants? they're from China. I've heard of people calling for mountain lions instead of running them with hounds. On your lion hunt, had you treed one, where could he have ran? You would've walked up to him and shot him, unless he jumped, and then it's up to the HOUNDS to catch him again. The guides do all the work training the hounds, keeping them in shape, and locating the lions. All you need to do is manage to keep up with the dogs (not easy, I'm sure), and shoot. I don't disagree with hound hunting, just making a point. So are guided hunts not hunting? How about trout fishing in a stocked creek? Is that not fishing? Does every hunt need to be 100% DIY in order to be "real"? Just saying that each type of hunting has it's strong and weak points, but each has value, and draws on skills that we all possess as hunters.
  16. Just so you know, there are some who don't think hound hunting, even for lions is "real" hunting. Be careful what you condemn. It's getting old, all this "what I do is OK, but what you do is wrong, B.S."
  17. 106 pairs of trophy antlers with an est value of $180,000 to 400,000. Ridiculous.
  18. Thanks Pygmy, and everyone else, for the kind words.
  19. LOL! Yeah, she's good looking. I don't think she has very good eyesight. Still have not been able to figure out what she sees in me. She's a physician's assistant, and has a lot of doctors (and others in that field who have paychecks a lot bigger than mine) falling all over themselves for her. But she hooked up with me, a not too well off, state employed truck driver / pothole filler. I try not to look too deeply into it, I'm just thankful to have her.
  20. Not biting. It was real enough for her and I, so let's leave it at that.
  21. I think she's got the itch bad now!
