Alot! And I have a lot of friends that hunt all over the state.... So are you guys really trying to make the argument that in a whole NY is a good state for killing mature bucks? I'm not even talking rack size because that takes out the Minerals, Crops, Agriculture and all that BS. I'm talking 3 1/2 + yr old deer I don't care if they are 60". 75% of the bucks harvested are yearlings. Culvert I've seen your pics in the past and you are very lucky to have the property you do but it doesn't represent the state fairly. 80% of guys don't see that in a season here! I've shot several good bucks here and I pass tons every year....this place sucks! lol Sorry but it's the truth, compared to everyone else the amounts of mature bucks killed sucks.

This is total BS IMO. The reason I believe they have the bucks is because of the laws not the Agriculture and Land. Have you ever hunted anywhere out west? If anything the deer have it worse because once all the crops are cut all you have is small parcels of woods with lots of large fields to shoot them on. Listen we will never agree on this so I'm done. Let me just ask you one thing though? What is the answer? NY is the worst State in the country, what do we do to make things better? Since it isn't shortening the gun season, allowing one antlered deer per season and opening up the doe restrictions to make the meat hunters happy...what is it? I bet if those 3 things were looked at you would see huge results but that's just me.

I love to hunt and I hunt hard, unfortunately I can't afford to go away on a hunt every year...so no I don't have a choice I have to hunt here. It's pretty simple just implement some of the laws from the top 5 whitetail states and we would grow bigger bucks. They all allow the harvest of more does and less bucks. I know that i live in 4C and there are 10 to 1 does to bucks in the area. I also need a preference point to shoot a does in 4C, does that make sense? I also know that whatever NY currently does isn't working! You can't argue that point at least, what we are doing is an epic fail so why not try something new? I will never win this argument here like I said but the numbers speak for themselves....We are the worst hunting state in the country...we must be doing it all right

There is a reason why NY is the WORST HUNTING STATE IN THE COUNTRY and every time these discussions come up it proves why. DEC along with the majority of NY hunters don't want to implement the right rules to grow big bucks. The mentality in NY is that most guys are meat hunters....which I get so why don't we let the meat hunters SHOOT ALL THE DOES THEY WANT! I just don't get it, all the states that grow big bucks have a short gun season, ALLOW HUNTERS TO SHOOT AS MANY BUCKS AS they WANT and this allows bucks to survive. I gave up on NY and just accept that the hunting sucks here. Until I hunted out west I never knew any better but once you do you realize just how bad it really does suck here. I still log over 100 hours in the stand because I don't have a choice but I don't enjoy it as much anymore. In Illinois you literally don't even need a doe tag as a resident you can just shoot does without a permit. Anyways just my opinion, I know most won't agree but I agree 100% that we should shorten the gun season and allow hunters to harvest more does. Forget about antler restrictions they aren't needed if the gun season is shortened. I'm not even gonna get into the shotgun only thing..... I never shoot a doe that is with fawns but that is just me. I don't need the meat that badly but I would say 90% of the guys I hunt with could care less. I'd rather take a doe by itself!

not 2.5, I'd say 3.5 all day. Not the best pic to judge by but that body doesn't belong to a 2.5yr old IMO.

I was drawing back in a stand once checking where I could and couldn't' shoot. While I was in full draw a DOE literally walked out right in front of where I was aiming. I couldn't believe it and whacked the deer and it ended up being a spike. This is the gods honest truth but to this day my buddies don't believe I didn't know it was a spike. The rule was 6pt or better on the property. The whole situation was crazy but I never saw horn on his head.

Tough to judge the age in that pic but that deer is lucky to score 130....I bet he doesn't. Shooter in my book but as far as a 3yr old 130 class deer.....Really close, he might barely make it. Velvet is deceiving, for the guys that say he is a 140 class, he's not.

That deer won't go anywhere between now and October 1st....I'd have a stand right in that area and knock him down early! The easiest time to shoot these bucks now is the early opener. They are still in their summer routine.....all they do is eat, drink and sleep. The ladies don't have them running around silly!

Put two cameras out on the property and this is what I got on the first pull. I'm not excited yet with these bucks because I won't shoot them. Couple of nice young deer that will be nice next year. I had a monster on the property that I thought made it.....I am hoping to get a pic of him. Dates are screwed up for some reason.

All Skin mounts. I'm not sold on the replicas....everyone says they look the same but not if you ask me. You don't get the texture of the scales like a skin mount...they never look as real to me IMO. Plus most taxidermists use the standard form sizes and your fish will be close but never actually your exact fish. Skin mounts all the way for me. The pics don't do justice for how nice they actually look in person but it gives you an idea.

My buddy just got into mounting fish this year and has done an amazing job with my fish. He's done a Brown, pike and Salmon for me. Just figured I would share the pics
