I have done several now with Van Dykes skull bleaching kit. It comes with Sodium Carbonate, you mix this with the boiling water and the flesh literally comes right off the bone. I flesh it best I can and then boil for 1 hour total with the Sodium Carbonate. I can literally take a head with nothing done to it and have it totally done in 4 hours. 1 day start to finish including bleaching (let it sit overnight). http://www.vandykestaxidermy.com/Skull-Bleaching-Instructions-W377.aspx

I've used both and own a summit. The lone wolf's are expensive and uncomfortable. I am Actually surprised when I hear people talk highly about them. I would never buy a loan wolf

I just think its funny that guys on this forum constantly talk about how they are gonna pass this buck and that buck until they are in front of them. Don't get me wrong you can shoot whatever you want but at the end of the day I just feel like everyone talks like they are trophy hunters until they are given an opportunity. Don't take this post the wrong way I think it's great that you shot a buck. What I don't get is you posted a pic of a deer and specifically said you were gonna let him walk. How can you hunt without a scope or binoculars and expect to know exactly what you are shooting at? I don't know about the rest of you but it really hard to tell any thing more than the deer has horns at 75-100yds. Anyways everyone's a trophy hunter on this forum until opportunity presents itself on this forum No disrespect! Congrats on the buck!

To me antler restrictions really don't accomplish much. NY can grow the same bucks that these other states do (Ohio, Illy ect) The reason we don't is because of the length of our RIFLE season! It's simple, look at the regs of states that grow big deer and it speaks for itself! The problem is everyone still has the old school mentality in NY and you aren't going to change it anytime soon. Most guys don't care about antlers they just want to KILL. I am not even to say it's about the meat because I see way to many guys that just can't let a deer walk regardless of what it is and they will donate the meat! I wish we would change the laws and grow bigger bucks but I am doubtful it will ever happen.

I would have stuck with the RAGE 2 blades. I have never had a deer walk away from one yet and I have shot several! Yes I always check the blades before I put it on the string because they come off the o-ring easily but they are deadly. They also include a shock collar now if you are worried about it which holds the blades in more securely.

Opening day 9pt! I hunted yesterday afternoon and even though it was super windy I still had an opportunity at this buck. I shot him at 27yds with the Rage 2 blade, these broad heads have never let me down! I have taken 4 bucks with them now and never had one get away. This is not the biggest buck in the world but where I hunt you just can't pass them up this size.
