Not sure what the original post was asking? What d'ya think about what? The picture? Size of deer? Was Bow Addict claiming it was a deer he took a pic of?

Lets see some Trail Camera photo's 2014 version!

Hmmm... just curious as to why the date stamp on the computer pic has a date from 2012 down in the bottom right hand corner? If you have two bucks that size on a camera in NY you should take off Oct 1st - Dec and never work because those deer are just ridiculous! Do you have any other shots of those two deer?- 53 replies

I don't buy the ozonics gimmic................Then again I don't really even buy scent control clothing! Even so I spend hundreds of $$ on it and don't go in the woods without everything being scent control. I know it cuts down on human odor but really enough to spend twice the money on everything? Hunters spend more money on crap every year and we don't really ever even know if the stuff works IMO. And like I said I am a perfect example! I spend thousands on scent free clothing, scent free boots, scent free gloves, scent free hats, piss, rattling horns, grunt calls, etc!!! Do I know if doe estrus REALLY increased my odds of shooting a buck.. NO! lol But since I can't prove it didn't more than it did I can't take that chance The ozonics thing is just to much though, I can't buy into that one!

Wow beautiful work!

That's the nice part about the October 1st opener... if you figure out what they have been doing chances are they will keep doing it for the opener! Good luck!

I haven't seen many fawns my way either

3 pins.... 20,30,40 and I will shoot 40 all day. I have killed several nice deer at 35-40, if I am confident in the shot I will take it.

I was a member of this site before you were so I am fully aware of how it works.... I used to post pictures and share stories but you can't even put up a pic without someone having something negative to say. Most guys on this forum like to preach like they have never made a bad decision in their life. Never taken too long of a shot, never moved a single apple from one spot to another, never hunted in the rain or wind, should have let that 3 1/2yr 8pt walk, the list goes on and on. The criticism is unreal.... funny to listen how everyone is so perfect, really a bunch of BS. This is a perfect example of the BS I am referring to...... I mean I don't think I really need to go any further than that! What, just because you don't have a stand on the field you're not hunting that field? (which I don't believe anyways). As a deer hunter you HUNT FOOD SOURCES whether that be sitting on the edge of the field or sitting in the woods where they go to and from the food source. Either way you are hunting "bait", and if you aren't you don't know much about deer hunting. Why would a farmers alfalfa field or corn field be any different then a little clover food plot a guy puts on his property? It's all the same and we all hunt over bait if you take it to this extreme.....

I hate this forum at this point for pretty much anything other than looking at trailcam pics....Bunch of computer tough guys and know-it-alls!

Really? You would pass that buck in the back left!???? I call your bluff on that one!

Last year I had millions this year I literally have none!

Wow that is a beautiful mount..... Looks much better than the a-hole that mounted my bear!

My buddy trapped this giant coyote this year. It had a really red coat, I have never seen one this color before. Red Yote!

From the start you were being passive aggressive with your questions. You were implying he couldn't make a proper estimate of age based on rack size (before he could even explain himself). Don't play it off like it was anything else. Happy Thanksgiving to you to! Secondly all the guys that always have something to say about Bad Shots, Weather conditions, aging of deer, Shooters vs. non shooter and everything else they like to call people out about on this forum NEVER HAVE ANY PICS OF BUCK KILLS?? Why is this? If I am going to take people serious on how much of an elite hunter they are I need some pics of the monsters they have killed! Sorry I didn't mean to side track this topic!

Someones always gotta challenge you on these forums! God forbid you ever state the age or size of a deer you shot because people will always find something to bust your stones about. Never fails! Nice mount! Looks 4 1/2 judging by the size of the skull cap... don't sell yourslef short!
-
To be honest for all materials (eyes, Mold, ears) it costs roughly $90. I am happy that my buddy got a buck to work on and pretty happy with the mount. The cape came out perfect honestly. The things that need to be worked on are the eyes and the angle that the scull cap is mounted. It is leaned a little too high and he looks like he is looke in the head lights a little. Overall great job but those are the things he needs to work on for the next time. I shot that deer the 1st week of bow (Oct5th) that is why the neck is no skinny. For $90 what the hell! I shot that deer the 1st week of bow (Oct5th) that is why the neck is no skinny.

I've never seen anything like that! Awesome!
-
How in gods name did you think that was directed at you? I was busting First-Lights stones about shooting a button buck and a half rack on opening week!
-
Man you guys were shooting anything and everything huh?!
-
I shot this 8pt with the bow early season and decided to let my buddy mount it. He is new to taxidermy so I figured he could use some practice. It took him one weekend to tan the hide, I ordered the mount and it was done by the next weekend. Took him a total of 5 hrs to do the whole moutn besides the tanning process. I think it came out pretty darn good for only his second time! Pretty Impressed!

Did they cut off the head?

Spined? Lookes like the shot was really far back? Congrats! Awesome buck!
