  1. LOL, Really? I shoot Rage 2 blades, I have never hit a deer yet that made it out alive! Might have missed one or two though!
  2. Unless you have a controlled refrigerated area to hang then skin and butcher ASAP!
  3. 20 30 40 50 60. I shoot out to 60 target practice but I wouldn't take that shot on a deer, not because I can't shoot it accurately but because I just don't get the penetration. If I was off just a little it would result in a wounded deer. The last good buck that I shot was at 39 yds and I drilled it right through the boiler room.
  4. Moultrie...I have had several inexpensive models with no issues. The two brands that I ALWAYS have problems with are Wildgame Innovations and Primos...everyone I know has issues with them.
  5. This is what I did for mine...
  6. Yes I would shoot and for anyone that says they wouldn't I would really love to know why not? Legal shooting hours...big buck...c'mon boys we all know we would shoot!
  7. He doesn't look like he put many inches on from 2013-2014? Nice looking buck though!
  8. Nice buck! His neck looks awful thin for this time of the year??
  9. My dad is 64 and he will hike in a mile with a climber still! I would never tell him not to...I feel it keeps him young and in good shape.
  10. You probably just hit him in the front leg....it will either heal or he will die slowly from infection.
  11. Had this 6pt 30yds broadside for 20mins and decided to pass him. He actually should have been an 8pt but his left side was messed up. You can't see in the pic but his left side was just one long spike with a brow tine. If he had all 8 points like he should have I would have taken him.... I might end up regretting it but I have better bucks on the property. The problem is the rule says 6pt or better so the other guys will end up shooting him if they get the chance.
  12. I would shoot if my wife wasn't home Her rule is I can't shoot them in the yard!
  13. Looks like a morning spot to me!
  14. Jumped a 4pt and a doe coming in. O didnt have a choice they were already in the field!
  15. 3 does and a 3pt at daybreak. Nothing since... Nice overcast and a little colder than early this week, hopefully the big boy comes out tonight!
  16. I will be out tomorrow AM and PM and Friday afternoon, also the mornings and evenings on Saturday and Sunday. You guys really sit ALL day for opening day? It is to early in the season for me to sit all day right now...no real rut activity at all in the area so they are still in summer mode for the most part, eating. I sit all day when the rut starts but until then it is pretty much a waste of time to me. Of course there is always an odd chance of a shooter showing up but not worth an all day sit at this point.
  17. To my statement about the lead spit shot, you guys are correct you can use it but not sell it. Sorry I was just trying to make a point and worded my point incorrectly.
  18. If I shoot one and it is really warm I will immediately skin it, quarter it and put it in the freezer. I like the meat to just firm up a little before de-boning and cutting. I definitely wouldn't leaving it hanging for any amount of time unless you have a controlled area with a temp under 50deg IMO
