  1. I hear ya Elmer! Things always pop up last minute. I wish next weekend goes as planned and I get one more shot at rifle and then the following weekend with my bow.
  2. Its a damn shame Culver! Really sucks especially around this time of year. I hope she finds a better job that pays more as well.
  3. Here's another hunter who was shot in the rear by his dog. At least this one was not in a car/truck but rather on a canoe . . . read on .... http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/man-accidentally-shot-own-dog-221644169.html
  4. Got that email too today but its refurbished. I don't like refurbished products unless they are sold directly from the manufacturer. The one and only refurbished item I ever bought was a Canon EOS Rebel XS digital camera with a telephoto lens directly from Canon last year at this time (have a friend who works at Canon and got it at an even deeper discount). Its been a year and I love it! Other than that I get weery of refurbished products.
  5. That really sucks. I'm a frequent visitor at dicks in Garden City but I would never buy a firearm there. The last one I did get was my 12 gauge without any problem. However the way they handled it with you was messed up. Make you go through all the paperwork and then tell you sorry you cant have it But since your brother bought it and paid for it you cannot take custody of it. It appears as if he was the straw buyer for you. This is true even though you did all the paper work. I hope you don't have a problem getting a refund. Im sure you know you cannot return a firearm or ammunition once you buy it. They may offer to buy it back from your brother but at a discount.
  6. Ummm.... er. . . . it wasn't me. My computer was hacked!
  7. Condolences! No details on cause. Maybe he was smoking and fell asleep??? http://www.freep.com/article/20111129/NEWS06/111129007/1048/sports
  8. You mean this one . . . http://rashmanly.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/eva_mendes_peta_ad-13.jpg
  9. The only reason I found this article is because on my Google homepage I have a widget that gathers news about hunting all over the country and I clicked on the headline not realizing it would take me to their site. BTW I'm a fan of PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals)
  10. Here is an article on deer-car collisions probably written by a fanatic who is wearing a leather jacket and belt eating a roast beef sandwich - freaking hyocrites. The article emphasizes that Hunting plays a big role in the collisions. Do your research duma$$es. Did ya forget all about the rutting period where the bucks chase the does across roadways looking for a piece of tail for a good part of November?? Oops! Forgot to post the link: http://www.peta.org/living/Animal-Friendly-Fun/deer-car-collisions-increase-during-hunting-season.aspx
  11. Welcome to the site. Good guys/gals and great info floating around this site.
  12. Welcome aboard Tony. Good group of guys with lots of valuable information flowing back and forth.
  13. Good luck with it. You won't be sorry. I know I'm not.
  14. Never have and hopefully never will! I agree with erussell, put a second bullet or arrow in the deer. The suffering will end much faster.
  15. Congrats on the new place and your first deer there! Any pics??
  16. This is a link to a video of a black lab chasing behind a herd of deer stampeding across a field. http://gma.yahoo.com/video/pets-26594274/gma-play-of-the-day-fenton-man-chasing-dog-chasing-deer-video-goes-viral-27414378.html
  17. Which one the Wildgame one you posted? Try it out but keep the receipt and box. Never too late to return it if you don't like it. Dicks takes back anything.
  18. Did you read the reviews on that one? Most were negative. I did a lot of research on trail cams and I wanted something good, reliable, long battery life since I don't go up very often to check the pictures. After many hours of research, I ended up with the Bushnell Trophy Cam. I put it up this past September before Turkey season and last checked it opening weekend this past week and the batteries were at 85%. Never changed the batteries. Runs on 4 or 8 AA batteries and holds up to 32gb SD cards. You can set it to 1 sec trigger speed and takes up to 60 sec of video with audio and up to 8MP pictures. Before you buy you need to calculate how much its going to cost you to replace the batteries every so often. The last camera I had was an older Stealthcam and it took 6C batteries. It didn't last longer than 1 week and that one cost close to $300. I bought the trophycam on Amazon using AMEX points. It was $183 with tax and free shipping. http://www.amazon.co...s00_i00_details Even cheaper now!! Here are some pictures I previously posted.
  19. LMFAO!!! Actually the Greeks would put the whole deer on what we call a "Souvla" - Karp knows what I'm talking about. Well said Karp. I'm Americanized as well . . . err . . . I was born here duh! As a final note, today he tried pushing the meat on us and the wife told him no thanks. We have no room in the freezer. I don't want it anyway - its tainted. He also tried to rationalize what he did as not being wrong by saying that I could use my brother's DMP because he assumes that my brother is not going up again. I also found out that my mother in law made a comment yesterday in Italian which I did not hear (and yes I speak and understand Greek and Italian) something to the effect of "You can't bother anyone anymore". Are you freaking kidding me? It wasn't like I drove 15 minutes to their house to drop something off for God's sake. I bailed his freaking a$$ and that's the last time I'm doing it. Don't know yet. If FNL comes up I'm switching his ammo to blanks. I'm also trying to convince my brother to go up with me early this Saturday morning so we can get a good part of Saturday in and part of Sunday. We had planned to go back up for last weekend of bow but he can't - work obligations.
