  1. Welcome! Great buck! I'm hoping to get his brother and sister this weekend in 4Y!
  2. If I didn't see it I would not have believed it. . . http://www.grindtv.c...o+safety+video/
  3. I hunt in region 4 and have not had any on me but that's not to say they aren't out there. Last December when I was processing and skinning my buck, there were a handful of them on him and it was 20 degrees out. Even if its cold, if they can find a warm body they will cling to you. I use Premethrin which you can get at Dicks and its ordorless.
  4. New item to add to the hunter's checklist - 1. Be safe 2. Wear your harness 3. Identify your target and beyond **4. Make sure your deer is dead before you gut it*
  5. Im so antsy Im counting down the minutes till sunrise on openIng day.
  6. The bill just passed the House. Now onto the Senate. Cross your fingers. Now let's get NY to allow reciprocity.
  7. Ha ha! I've seen the Santa one before but never saw the others.
  8. Good luck everyone! Hunt smart and be safe!
  9. Getting ready for Opening Day!

  10. Invest in a good meat grinder and do it yourself. I've been doing it myself for 6 years. Just bought a decent electric grinder (used a hand crank type - took forever and very messy) which I'm looking forward to use hopefully this Sunday. I think a lot of us on this forum process our own. Am I right??
  11. Picked up this Pandigital Novel Touchscreen E-reader/Tablet at Kohls. It's an android based OS. The only reason I got it was because it was the only one at that price that came with a standard SD card reader and the digitial picture frames did not come with batteries. The other tablets are twice the price and they take only microSD cards. It is not by any means anything like an IPad but you can read, watch movies, listen to music, and most importantly look at pictures. You can also browse online as long as you are in a Wifi hotspot but the browser is slow. I plan on bringing this with me to my stand to look at photos off my Bushnell Trophycam while I'm hunting. It was $130 at Kohl's. But I had 30% off coupon and $30 Kohl's cash so I got it for $70. I was going to return it because it was slow in responding but I figured it was good enough for my purposes so I decided to keep it. Just realized it also comes with a stylus pen which works better than my finger.
  12. First I would set up a trail cam hIgh up in a tree facing his stand. And another one facing toward your land. This way if he shoots anything on your property you can get him in the act. If you catch him in the act then. I would file a court action seeking an injunction to keep him off of your land. The camera will give you proof of his actions and you an also use it to bring criminal charges against him. The cameras may be enough to deter him.
  13. Going to be doing all day sits Friday with my bow in my ground blind and Saturday with my 30-06 in my stand along the edge of a corn field. Deer trail coming into the field from my right and they meander along the corn. Hoping to fill my freezer this weekend.
  14. Dave, very well said! My first was a doe. She was a trophy to me. I have her hide hanging on my wall and a gun rack made out of her hooves. I'm a meat hunter 100%. Doe or buck don't matter to me. As far as my buck tag, well, if it happens it happens. If not so be it. I'd rather have meat in the freezer than a rack on the wall. God willing, I have plenty of hunting years ahead of me to fill those buck tags.
  15. Sounds like the old US Postal Service motto which I modified a bit - "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of snow stays these "hunters" from the swift completion of their "all day sits".
  16. Article feature on a NY Hunter who bagged a nice buck. http://blog.syracuse..._hunter_fi.html Nice buck!!!
  17. CNY which one do you have? All the ones I saw at Rite Aid, CVS all require plug into outlet which does not serve my purposes. Eddie, where did you get that Kodak one? It looks good. Nice screen. My eyes aren't what they used to be looking at small screens. Nevermind, found it on Amazon. Thanks for the suggestion . . .
