When I read the title the first thing that popped into my head was Realtree the camo company! LOL. We've put up a real tree for the last 12 years since we found out my son was allergic to fake ones (dust mites etc - go figure). All our trees have been between 6-8 footers except our first year in our house 21 yrs ago I brought home a 14 footer which fit nicely in our living room with 16 foot ceilings. This year the wife is trying to convince me and the kids to get a table top tree since we are going away for a week after Christmas. We put our feet down and said no. So there....

It was a bad year for seeing deer throughout bow season for me. Did not see anything but squirrels and chipmunks. But the two I did see (a doe and an 8 pt) on opening day for firearm in SZ are both in my freezer.

Well so much for getting in one last hunt next weekend. My daughter's fencing meet that was scheduled yesterday was forfeited by the other team because of insufficient competitors. So her meet has been moved to next Saturday which will now be an all day invitational fencing competition and she will be a starter. My plan was to go up Friday afternoon for a weekend muzzy hunt but my daughter looked at me with those puppy dog eyes and asked: "Daddy can you go to my first meet?" and my wife turns to me and says "I've never asked you not to go hunting and this is the only time I have asked you not to go considering the fact that our freezer is full". So as the Clash once sang, I asked myself "Should I stay or should I go now? If I go will there be trouble? Come on and let me know. Should I stay or should I go?" And the answer is....... There is no way I'm missing my daughter's first fencing meet as a foil starter! My season is done ....for now.

I think he meant "near him". Lol

I was hoping on going up this weekend but it's my daughter's first fencing meet tomorrow as Foil first starter which I can't miss. So instead I'm planning on heading up next Friday afternoon with my smoke pole. I've been looking at my freezer, and I think there is still some room in there. Lol! Congrats on the new home Geno! You made me very jealous! If it wasn't for family (parents, inlaws, BILs and SILs) living near us we would have sold everything and moved north years ago!

Congrats on a great season! I've got two in the freezer as well. If I get to go up again it will be with my smoke pole and for yotes!
