3D Target Stand and Shed Ramp
Deerthug replied to Deerthug's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
I guess you can use it as a decoy but it may be a bit heavy to carry to your hunting spot. The wheels are just for ease of movement around my property and convenience making readily accessible. I used to have it in my basement all taken apart which gave me little incentive to haul it upstairs and outside to shoot for an half hour or so. Now i just unlock my shed, wheel it out and practice. Just have to rodent/bug proof the shed. Lol. -
3D Target Stand and Shed Ramp
Deerthug replied to Deerthug's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
Thanks guys. Next project is a new shed door. This one is rotting out and not sliding. Going to be building one with T-11 exterior wood and using HD hinges. No more sliding door. -
A few months ago I managed to put together a stand for my 3D Glendale Buck target and just got around to taking pictures of it. So here it is: I used 2 - 2x4x8 cut to length, 2- 12" threaded rods with matching nuts and decking screws. I attached a piece of marine rope to the front end and 6" lawnmower wheels to the rear. Oh yeah . . . almost forgot. I built a ramp for my shed last weekend to wheel my lawn mower, snow blower, targets and other crapola. I used 1 - 12" x 2" x 8' long pressure treated board for the stringers cut at 48" and on a diagonal. I used 4 - 1"x6" x 8' pressure treated for the decking. Decking screws holds it all together.

Interesting video.

I've had a stainless steel Amana with bottom freezer for about 12 years which we bought for $1800. Only had three service calls which just needed a good cleaning and a temperature regulator that went bad. It occasionally has ice buildup. The service guy clued me in and told me that if that happens just remove the food, let the fridge defrost overnight and it should work fine after that. The last time it stopped freezing/cooling about 3 years ago I did that and it has worked like a charm "knock on wood".

He's an overpaid non-producing has-been player. I have no problem seeing him go.

Planning a road trip to Niagra Falls middle of this month
Deerthug replied to Deerthug's topic in General Chit Chat
We were planning to stay on the other side. Passports are all ready. The kids would like the jet boat but the wife would turn green on anything smaller than a cruise ship. Lol! Which by the way we just booked today for the Bahamas in the winter. -

Thanks for the advice. We were thinking of hitting SUNY Albany first and head over to SUNY Rochester or Genesseo to check out the colleges for my daughter before heading to the falls. May stop at my camp on way up for an overnight stay and hit the road early in the morning. -

Here's the description of what to expect on field day. What To Expect at the Field Day At the Field Day, you must successfully complete the remaining course requirements, which include: 4–6 hours of instruction, a field exercise, a live-fire exercise, and New York’s Hunter Education Certification exam. -

You can be eleven to take the course but 12 to handle the live fire portion of the test. Otherwise they use air guns if you are 11. I've been looking for a local course for my son but there are none close to home. The online course looks like a good idea but there is no listing for field days that are available. Gonna have to call the DEC on Monday to get more info. -
Nice herd!

Hey Dom. Long time no see. I hope all is well

My car does not have the plugins for that. It only has the usb port. The alternative would be to pop out the radio and attach them to the rear of the radio receiver but since the car is leased I don't want to be messing with it.

"Well here you go". That was with the S4. They look like they are straight down. Just looked at the same sentence on the S4 and woudnt you know it the first " looks like it is curved backward. Hmmmm...

So I've had the S4 for about 7 days now and I am very pleased with it. There is somewhat of a learning curve going from Apple OS to Android but it was easy to learn. It is amazingly fast compared to the iPhone4. I loaded all my apps, photos and music on a 16g micro SD card I bought (actually takes up to a 64g card) and I still have about 12.5g left with more than 9g left on the phone memory to run the OS. I can access all my files on the micro SD card using the My files app which acts just like windows explorer. Easy to find anything I'm looking for. I set up widgets and apps I use on a daily basis on the main screen pages which can be moved with a swipe. The camera is awesome. I can access it as well as any other app I saved as a shortcut from the lock screen with a swipe. I can toggle sound, wifi, bluetooth, air gesture, and any other important setting by swiping down with two fingers from the top of any of the main screens. The only downside is that I was able to connect my iPhone to my Infiniti G37x stereo and it was able to read my phone, the songs and titles and play music. The S4 connects to my car but it only recognizes it as a usb drive but is not able to play songs. I read up on this and it is a common problem with the stereo set up on most Infinities that don't have navigation with Bluetooth audio streaming. So either I trade in my S4 for iPhone 5, (nah tired of Apple), trade in my G37 for another car that is compatible (nah too expensive) or do the next best thing - I saved all my songs on a usb flash drive and plugged that into the usb port in my car and it works like a charm. Overall I am glad I pulled the trigger on this one!

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) — The Washington County sheriff’s office says a man who attempted to rob a Beaverton gun store with a baseball bat and a knife was thwarted when the manager drew his own gun. The sheriff’s office says the suspect walked into Discount Gun Sales Thursday afternoon, smashed a display case with the bat and removed a handgun. Moments later the manager armed himself and ordered the suspect to drop the gun, the bat and a knife he also was carrying. The manger detained him until deputies arrived and arrested the 22-year-old Beaverton man on robbery and other charges. As Forrest once said: "Stupid is as stupid does!"

Buckskin moccasins
Deerthug replied to crappyice's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
Nice looking mocs. I still have deer skin leather from two years ago. I can't decide what to make. You just gave me a great idea! -
Amen brother! Even though the wife and kids don't care for it, I grow it throughout the year and shave it off when I grow tired of it. I grew it back last week and shaved it off yesterday. In a few weeks I'll start again and keep it through the season.

Shaved my van dyke the end of May. Too hot for the summer. Plan on growing it back in the end of August. All I need is two weeks for it to be full. Damn Mediterranean blood!

to bow opener in SZ. God it felt like October this morning when I took my dog out - crisp, cool, yet cloudy. But I took one look at the crabgrass that overtook my lawn the past few weeks and I was brought back to reality.
