To keep the feet warm in the stand , I use Toe Warmers . Bought a box of 36 pairs at BJ's Wholesale for $16 plus tax . Works out to about 50 cents a pair .

Do those old deer really taste like shoe leather ?

Got in my stand in the thickets by 6:20 this am . A couple minutes after 7 , it started to sprinkle . Around 8am , I heard a deer blow a way to my north . Never saw a thing all morning and was pretty much soaked . Nick said he saw a couple different doe with a fawn and 6 other doe in the neighbor's field . My son called and said he was leaving at 11 am and if I got something he could drive back 21 miles . At noon I walked to my car and sat there for a long time . My Boonie hat felt like it weighed 5 pounds . Glad it isn't a 10 gallon hat ! Tried to take a nap and nodded off a couple times . At 3:30 I walked to the stand that my son had sat in . At 5pm , I saw 5 doe feeding a couple hundred yards north in the bean field . At 5:50 , 8 turkeys walked up through the neighbor's bean field . Started up the lane way at 6:30 and saw 2 more doe . Only heard 2 gun shots this morning .

Going to shove off to Geneseo in a short bit and Bow hunt with my youngest son . Some rain forecasted . Gotta recheck the weather .

I have never seen a piebald in the wild . That would be a great sight .

I thought this guy had a screwed up rack and then realized it was the angle of the pictures .

The thing that is nice about the FMJs is that they are easier to find than other arrows with a metal detector . My youngest son shoots them .

I would guess that there would be a difference in grains per inch . Because of their composition , I don't think it would affect the spine .

I have no idea . PM burmjohn for the answer .

Saw a total of 11 deer today . Nothing with antlers . Spooked 3 deer out of laneway while heading for my stand . It was a bit nippy out . I expected deer to be coming from the field to me but a mama and her 2 fawns were in the thick stuff . None of them seemed to be aware of me except a doe fawn looked up and went back to eating leaves . The mama stayed in the thick crap and was about 10 yards away . The two fawns came into the open area and one of them was at the bottom of my ladder stand eating leaves where I had peed earlier . She then went between the ladder and a small tree and she bumped the ladder . It was pretty neat . They all headed north . I moved to a different stand and saw another 5 deer between #:30 and 6:20 . When I loaded my ATV last night I noticed the front right tire was soft . Filled it up and it looked okay this am . When I finished hunting , I loaded the ATV back on the trailer . When I cinched the ratchet strap for the right front I noticed the tire was soft again . Checked it out when I got home . Looks like a piece of barb wire in the tire . Will have to get it fixed Monday .

Saw 3 doe at 620 am on the way to the stand . Just had a doe and 2 fawns in the thick crap to my right. They didn't cross into the open area like they are supposed to. One of the fawns was eating leaves at the base of the stand where I had peed . So far the deer aren't cooperating with me . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Finishing my oatmeal and coffee and then get ready to head to Geneseo ..... a 50 mile drive . The front right tire on my ATV was soft . Inflated it . Hope it's okay for today . Otherwise I am screwed .

Gear up .... it's going to be mighty cold in the AM . Big change in temperature since Monday . Clobal cooling is coming ...........

I got down from the stand at 10:30 . I hadn't dressed warm enough and was quite cold . Had the wind in my face all morning . The doe and her fawns were less than 15 yards from me and never looked up . Maybe I will see about shooting the Mama in a couple weeks but I was holding out for a buck . All I saw was the 3 deer . I am taking hand warmers tomorrow !
