After I retired from working 35 years at Xerox , I reverted back to my childhood days and started shooting woodchucks for farmers in Walworth . I wasn't familiar with muck or muck farms . So one day I was out in a big field and shot a couple chucks and was heading to the next field . There was a ditch and the closest crossing was 1/2 mile away . I was too lazy to go to the crossing and the ditch looked almost dry . I could see raccoon tracks and figured it was okay to cross over . I climbed down and took a step . My leg sunk quick and the momentum caused me to fall foreward . Instinct had me reach out my arms and I was able to get my 223 on the opposite bank . I grabbed some brush and pulled . Pulled it right out of the ground . I tried to pull my legs with no luck . I sank up to my thighs in the thick muddy stuff . So , here I was 4' lower than the field . No cell phone and the closest house was over 1/2 mile away . I started to panic and calmed myself down . I grabbed the back of my jeans leg and pulled . Then I did the other side It took me about 25 - 30 minutes to get free and my heart was pounding like mad . I was pooped . I cleaned my jeans off as best I could and headed home . A couple years later I told the farmer about it . The old fart just laughed .

I should have a Garage Sale and sell all of my NRA bags that come free with a 5 year subscription .....

I usually do the 5 year option for a lower cost .

I assumed that it was food but we aren't supposed to assume . Thanks for the input .

My son has a young German Short Hair dog . He says the dog farts are unbearable and no not blaming anyone's farts on the dog . Nick was talking to me on the phone and gasped because the dog was near him and let one go . He almost gagged . I told him to put some BEANO in the dog's food . I would guess that it has to do with what they are feeding the dog and might stop into PETCO in Webster and ask the question . Any thoughts on this ?

You don't need to cancel your Scorecard . Just don't shop there . The scorecard is just bonus points for spending money at DICKs and F&S . It's not like a Credit Card .

I will still continue to shop at DICKs and Field and Stream . The Rochester Walmarts no longer sell guns and I will continue to shop at those stores . Maybe I will Boycott Wegmans , Riteaid and BJ's because they don't sell any guns .

The reusable bags are okay but should be washed often . They are germ carriers !

Do we need to re-post his previous threads about hunting to actually satisfy your needs ? Why not post a picture of yourself actually hunting ..... better yet , do a video . Do you have any pictures of yourself actually fishing or trapping ?

Another thing .... Don't make it common knowledge as to what teacher might be armed . Better that the students don't know . Any armed teacher should be very knowledgeable in gun safety and be able to shoot a perpetrator if necessary . Don't use concealed carry if you aren't able to shoot when it's needed .

What's the purpose of the 2X4 ?

This is from today's Rochester D & C Focusing solely on guns in shortsighted approach I am not a gun owner, nor do I suspect I will ever be. After the tragic Florida school shooting I have read comments like "we never had to worry about this when we were kids." The writer then espouses stricter gun control or a ban. What has changed? Are gun laws more lenient? No. Are there new weapons? No, the AR-15 has been available to the public 1963. Technology should make background checks more thorough. Bottom line is guns and gun sales are not the sole issue. Rather, I suspect recent trends are contributing factors: violent video games of mass killing! marketed as entertainment for children; societal shifts such as increased drug use; decreased church attendance; absentee parenting; and even designating schools as gun-free zones allowing shooters to not feel threatened are contributing factors. Guns do not kill people, people kill people. Focusing solely on guns will not prevent tragedies.

Congrats on your accomplishment . I am stubborn and try to do things myself and can usually get it done with electrical and plumbing . I am also thrifty aka cheap and hate to pay some guy $80 for a 10 minute job that I am capable of doing .

If the axle isn't trashed , you could get the hub and bearings at a Trailer dealer . Since my axle was okay , I bought a hub / bearing set on EBAY for my 1" axle . A small tub of axle grease runs about $7 . I wouldn't tow that if you paid me . It didn't happen from just sitting there . Chances are you will need to replace the hub as well as the bearings . I am speaking from experience . I have a trailer that I use for work and I put a lot of miles on it ( 5000 - 6000 miles ) . It takes 5.3 X 12 " tires and the bearings just don't last using it traveling a lot of miles . Those small wheels make a lot of revolutions . You need to make sure the bearings are greased real good also .
