  2. All is quiet on the Western Front ! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  3. This just reinforces the fact that King Barack is an IDIOT !
  4. We had the M1 when I first went into the Marine Corps . GREAT RIFLE ! Always wanted one but now at my age , it no longer matters .
  5. Looks like quite a few hunters are doing unsafe acts . Uptown .... If you see an update on this , let us know what happened .
  6. I will give Geneseo another try tomorrow . I have to get there early enough to do some trimming for shooting lanes . I had my son check out the view from my pond blind . I would actually be at least 4 feet higher than the view in the pic . I need to trim some of the small stuff that blocks the view of the field which would give me a 150 yard shot .
  7. Thanks for the article that clarifies how the woman was shot . An assumption would have been by another hunter shooting at a deer and this wasn't the case . A person in the hunting party didn't have his safety on according to the article .
  8. I wear a blaze orange vest over my jacket , and an orange hat and have an orange Back Tag Holder on a camo backpack . However , I have a camo seat pad that is attached to my backpack so it covers the tag holder . I am going to cover the seat pad with one of the orange Field & Stream bags . I only hunt private property but no sense in taking any chances .
  9. I was in a double stand in Walworth this am from dark to almost 11am . Didn't see any deer . The stands is almost 10 yards in the woods next to a cut bean field . You could see beyond 200 yards . I had my shotgun at the bean field is in Monroe County and the tree stand in in Wayne County . It was below freezing and I was getting very little sun so it stayed cold . Another BORING sit . Well , there is still more time left to fill some tags .
  10. Sitting in a stand just inside a woods by a cut bean field Wondering how someone could mistake a hunter for a deer . I can see 200 yards across the field and see posted signs without using binoculars. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  11. I am going to head to Walworth in a few minutes . I am no too crazy about hunting in freezing weather but I can't shoot anything from my computer . I have never had a shot on my friend's property . Maybe today will be the day .
  12. It's a sad situation . Any time you go out , you have to worry about other hunters doing something stupid .
  13. My 2 sons that hunt saw 3 small ( this year's deer ) , a spike with a broken off spike and as my oldest son was leaving the woods he saw a fork horn . Neither took any shots . I didn't hunt but pland to spend 2-3 hours in Walworth tomorrow am . Gotta hit the sack now .
  14. I still have my own permits , a couple sign over to me plus a couple of crop damage permits and by Buck Tags . It would be nice to fill some of these .
  15. I have a difficult time trying to conceal my 44 mag Contender with a 14" barrel .
  16. We can only hope that his driveway gets buried with snow this winter and the trails get cluttered with thorns and brambles ............
  17. I posted this Nov 11 from a local paper
  18. I hope the owner didn't twist the knife after putting it in your back . Sure , he has the right to do as he pleases with his land but to take money over help and friendship is greed as far as I am concerned . Just an opinion .
  19. Well , the old guy in the report that shot his father was 24 years old
  20. Well , I pulled one of my boners Wednesday and lost one of my Canon Cameras . I tore my car apart looking for it and deciced I must have lost it hunting at my SILs . So , today after taking the wife andf a grandson to breakfast I headed to Geneseo . I didn't take my hunting gear as I wanted to concentrate on the camera search . As I was walking down the laneway I saw a doe running across the neighbor's field . A couple minutes later there was a doe standing down the laneway about 100 yards away . I stopped and she was watching me and took a couple steps in my direction . I started to slow walk towards her and when I was about 60 yards away , she ran . When I got down to the little clump of trees where I wanted my son to wait the other day a couple doe stepped out of the thickets , then a couple more until all 9 (nine) of them were in the open about 70-80 yards away . They looked in my direction and slowly went to the property west of my SIL's . If I had taken my rifle I probably wouldn't have seen anything . Didn't find the camera . Before I left Ontario this am I stopped at Tractor Supply and bought another Hub Blind . I bought the Ameristep Brickhouse Blind that normally sells for $129.99 for $89.99 . So today wasn't a total loss .
  21. Most rifles are scoped . If you can't tell a man from a deer looking through a scope , you shouldn't be hunting ! And .... before some one replies that all rifles don't have scopes , I havn't seen any rifle hunters without one . It's also handy to carry binos with you . Sunset in Sandy Creek was 4:31 today and might have been 4:32 or 4:31 yesterday . To me , this reinforces not stretching the shooting time past sundown .
  22. I lost my camera in Geneseo Wednesday out looking for it now . Saw a couple doe and nine just came out of the thick area . I didn't bring my hunting gear as I wanted to concentrate on finding the camera . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
